"We gotta get up. Come on Mondstadts champion you'll be late for the Gliding exams."
Half asleep Amber yelled back. "Five more minutes...." And there she was gone to sleep again. You sighed heavily as you walked over to the girl and snatched away the blanket she was holding onto for dear life. The sun had already begun to rise and so the room was well lit which caused your roommate to groan. She muffled an "I'll be there" that made you leave the room satisfied and ready to prepare the table for breakfast. You made teyvat fried eggs and packed up the left over chicken mushroom skewers for both your lunches since neither of you would be home for a while.
You heard light footsteps coming from the girl's room and you placed the plate of eggs infront of her on the table.Normally the girl was a morning bird who would usually wake you up but recently the Stormterror incidents have been causing her a lot of extra stress. You joined the knights of favonius together a few years back and have been roommates with since because considering all the work you guys are barely at home so it was just smarter to split rent.
"Aaaah I'm sorry for acting childish it's just I'm so-" she yawned before continuing. "so tired. But don't worry this outrider will be back in shape in no time!" You chuckled at her while shaking your head slightly.
"Don't worry I'll make you a cup of coffee. But be careful in the next few days I'm going to go seek out stormterrors whereabouts."
She looked a bit worried but shook it off. "Yess! That would be awesome i just love coffee especially when you make it, Y/N. Oh but you should be the one being careful. Wouldn't wanna lose a friend like you." You clasped amber's hands in yours and smiled at her. She was a great person and friend. While making your way to jean for the daily report the girl decided to escort you to the grandmasters office and went on about how amazing it would be to fly like the birds do. You quite enjoyed her company but most of the time it was hard to keep up.
Before entering she looked at you with a serious expression. "Remember to be careful of kaeya. I feel uneasy. Please tell me if he gives you any trouble.""Oh don't worry so much you always tell me that. I've known him for a while now. Don't be so wary of him he's a nice guy." You gave her a quick pat on the head and went inside alone. As you got closer to the acting grand master's office you could hear voices coming from inside.
"Jean I've finished the assigned missions. You wouldn't mind me going on a trip for a few days right?" His sly voice was unforgettable. He probably let Noelle run his errands again you sighed. Poor girl just wants to become a knight. You shook your head as you knocked on the door.
"Kaeya we will discuss this later. Yes come in." Jeans face softened as she saw you. After saluting everyone greeted you. Lisa was holding a book in her hands and leaning on the desk while jean and kaeya were discussing things infront of the huge shelf.
"Miss Lisa, Grandmaster, Captain" Taking turns saying their names you gave each an acknowledging nod.
"I'm here for the reports. Which areas need my observation?"Jean scrunched up her nose a bit. You could basically sense her headache.
"My apologies yes let me get the map for you.." She rummaged through the desk and picked up a map. There were countless markings on the piece of paper. "Please go to the stormbearer mountains there have been many sightings of stormterror in that area." You gave her a nod and were about to excuse yourself when the blue haired knight spoke up."Dear Jean, why don't you let me accompany miss Y/L/N during this mission? Two eyes are better than one don't you think it's safer to have me by her if anything happens, hm?" Your eyes shot up and met his gaze. There was a grin plastered onto his face. His eyebrows raised at your sight. Did he think this was some kind of joke? It was tempting to sigh out loud but you didn't. Finally the librarian's voice could be heard. "Cutie you seem to be uncomfortable. I understand this young Alberich is a bit of a bother but it would make Jean less worried if you had company." She was speaking so soothingly you couldn't help but smile. You could hear Kaeya scoffing at the other side of the room but the smile never left his lips. After excusing yourself from jean you couldn't help but wonder why the Calvary Captain was so keen to join you on this mission. You were very well capable of protecting yourself so that couldn't be his excuse.
