The Major and His Mate: New Moon

Cuddles and Ripping a Vampire Apart...

Jasper's Cabin, Alaskan Forest…

Snow was falling. It was going to be one of the last since the temperatures were rising. Sebastian watched the flakes fall, admiring the unseen details that made each of them unique. Jasper watched content as his mate sat comfortably in their living room, watching the weather outside. They were unmoving, not one breath coming out of their mouths. Here, they didn't have to worry about being human. No one was watching them.

Finally, Jasper shifted slightly, prompting Sebastian to look in his direction. Jasper slowly walked over to Sebastian, bending down to place a loving kiss on his forehead. Sebastian smiled softly at the loving gesture and tugged Jasper into his lap. Jasper smirked at Sebastian's quick action, knowing that Sebastian expressed his emotions through actions. He shifted in Sebastian's lap, curling up into a ball and placing his head on Sebastian's shoulder.

Sebastian let out a long sigh, feeling antsy about something. Jasper took note of the change in his emotions, thinking he was worried about Bella.

"You know we don't have to stay here, right? We can go and see her from a distance." Jasper said mentally.
"It's not her I'm worried about. It's the pack. Apparently, there has been a vampire crossing into their territory." Sebastian replied.
"A vampire? Who could it be?" Jasper questioned.
"My guess? Victoria." Sebastian answered.
"Victoria? Why would she be involved?" Jasper inquired.
"I killed her mate if you remember. She must think that if she kills Bella, she'll be avenging her mate." Sebastian explained.
"You should go to the pack. They need your help." Jasper suggested.
"I can't leave you Darlin', I'd miss you too much." Sebastian muttered.
"And I'd miss you just as much, but you need to keep an eye on Forks." Jasper reassured him.

Sebastian sighed in defeat, Jasper smirked, knowing he'd won. They got up from the chair, and Sebastian made his way into their bedroom. Jasper helped him pack a bag and followed him outside. Sebastian sighed, knowing he wouldn't see his mate for a while. Jasper smiled reassuringly and gave him a long hug, which was quickly reciprocated. They both pulled away slightly, still in each other's arms. Sebastian lowered his head slightly and pulled Jasper into a long, passionate kiss. They stood in one another's embrace for a few moments until Jasper unwillingly pulled back.

They both sighed. Then, Sebastian sped off, unwillingly leaving Jasper alone.

Sebastian made good time and arrived on the Rez just as Sam was issuing out patrols. Sebastian slid to a stop, tearing up the front lawn. Sam looked at him and sighed, knowing it was no use to try and complain. Paul and Jared watched the interaction with amusement, while Embry and Quil stared warily. Sebastian noted their discomfort and raised an eyebrow.

"Sam? Weren't they informed about me?" Sebastian asked.
"Yeah, they were. Guys, stop staring at him. You're being weird." Sam answered.

Quil and Embry ducked their heads at Sam's rebuke. Sebastian let out a soft laugh at their actions. Sam realized that since Sebastian was with them, patrol would be easier and take less time. He also wondered why Sebastian was only communicating through the pack link or mentally. Sebastian felt his confusion and met his questioning gaze. Before Sam could say anything, Sebastian let out a rumbling growl.

Everyone jumped at the sudden noise and saw that Sebastian had started to shake with barely repressed rage. Sam tried to reach out but was quickly shut down. Then, Sebastian transformed. His clothing ripped as he grew. Everyone watched in awe as he shifted into a large, white wolf. He was the same size (if not bigger) as Sam's wolf, and he had a streak of silver down his back. His eyes were still their vampiric gold, Sam noted.

Jared and Paul let out low whistles that were cut short as Sebastian raced off. Sam shared a look with everyone and shrugged, following Sebastian's lead. The pack raced after Sebastian trying to keep up as he sprinted through the forest.

Suddenly, he stopped before a clearing, nearly making Quil slam into his backside. Sam noticed he was staring out across the field and followed his gaze. His eyes widened at the sight of a vampire circling Bella. Sebastian let out a growl, looking to Sam for permission to attack. Sam nodded as Sebastian let out a long howl in warning.

Meanwhile…

Bella was trying to keep Laurent from getting closer. She saw and heard Edward giving her advice. Laurent could not be deterred until a long howl pierced the air. His eyes widened with fear as he furiously turned to try and find the source. Then, a twig snapped from behind Bella. Laurent, seeing what was behind Bella, took off running. Bella stood in shock, especially when she saw a pack of giant wolves chasing after Laurent, a white and black wolf leading the charge.

A russet colored wolf stopped beside her for a moment. She locked eyes with it, and then the wolf let out a small growl and sprinted after its pack. Bella let out a long breath, trying to process Laurent and the pack of wolves. She then realized what had been in the forest the whole time.

Back with the Pack…

A grating, shrieking sound filled the air, and Sebastian bit down on Laurent's head and pulled. The rest of the pack each tried to grab a limb to speed up the process. Sam transformed back to his human self and prepared a lighter to end it. Sebastian was successful in yanking off Laurent's head and quickly backed away as Sam set fire to the body. The pack watched with a grim sense of duty as the vampire burned.

Sam turned to Sebastian, who tilted his head in slight confusion. Sam shook his head, exasperated.

"Don't give me that look, you know what I'm gonna ask you." Sam retorted.
"You're wondering why I'm only speaking mentally." Sebastian stated.
"Yeah, what gives?" Paul asked.
"Something happened, I'm not ready to talk about it quite yet. Once I'm more comfortable around all of you, I might tell you." Sebastian explained.

Everyone nodded at his answer, accepting it for the time being. Sebastian then trotted over to a tree and went behind it. He quickly transformed, and Embry threw him a pair of black cutoff jeans. Sebastian then came out and rejoined the pack. Sam had to hold back a laugh at the stark difference between the Rez boys and the vampire. Everyone heard his thoughts and started rolling on the ground laughing.

Once everyone had calmed down, they started heading back to Sam's house. Paul and Jared sidled up to Sebastian, joking around and asking questions. Embry and Quil followed close behind, eager to learn more about their new pack member. Sam smirked slightly at Sebastian, interacting with the pack, knowing that he was getting along very well with everyone.
