The Year 13008

Holly's Pov

"Holly!"

I jump out of my skin. I clutch my chest as any person would after being scared. "Spirits Guin! Don't do that! I'm pregnant!"

I look down at the floor to check if my blatter leaked. "... I think I may have peed a little," Thankfully I did not pee, but I will need to soon. Perks of being pregnant, peeing all the time.

Yay.

Guin pauses before voicing her opinion. Like usual. "You're only two months pregnant you're fine,"

"Like your the healer,"

"Actually–"

"Alright, alright, point made." I sigh. Leading Guin over to the bench in the hall.

We sit facing each other. I open my mouth to ask what she needs but the bell tower overtakes my voice. We pause and listen for the hour. Four distinct rings are heard throughout the castle. Oh, thank the Spirits. I'm getting hungry.

Hopefully, I can hold out for two more hours. Dinner is supposed to be roasted ham. I'm drooling already.

"Now, what do you need?"

Guin bows her head. As if she's the shyest person in the words, she whispers. "I want you to help design my wedding dress,"

I nearly request her to repeat. A human with superb hearing wouldn't have heard. Luckily I'm Fae. Although I barely heard so I ask for confirmation.

"You want me to what?"

"Help me design my wedding dress,"

"Guin, I would be delighted!"

Guin grins. She stands and holds her arm out for me to grasp. I gently take her arm and rise from my seat. "Eve is waiting for us in her upper study,"

"Who else have you told?"

"You, Eve and Ella," Guin leads the way.

People give a slight bow as we pass. It doesn't take long to reach Eve's study. Guin simply opens the door. All high-ranking court members know not to knock unless Eve has the door locked. But she never does. Inside Eve, Ella and Neirin are sitting at her table.

Neirin being the sweet guy he is, grabs two chairs. He doesn't have to help. I'm not heavily pregnant...yet. When I'm settled I give him a smile of thanks. He pats my shoulder and smiles in return.

The hour's tick by. No one was bothered by the seemed stillness of the bell tower. Eve jolts startling everyone else. The sounds of the bell rang out six times. Two hours have passed and yet time felt as if it stood still. Across the room, Ella and Neirin are planning how the courtyard will look.

Hardly six feet away from Guin and me. Eve had been pouring her concentration into designing invitations. Now her head rests on the table. Her shoulders are shaking from the effort it takes her to laugh at herself.

After a few minutes, she is able to collect herself.

"Neirin why don't you give the dragons their invitations and Ella can give Kaliber the rest," Eve thrusts multiple letters into her cousin's hands. Neirin sits waiting for more instruction. "Dinner will be waiting for you when you return,"

Neirin sighs accepting the task and blowing a kiss to his soon-to-be wife.

"Now that he's out of the room. Show us your dress," I tell Guin.

Eve and Ella move over to see the beautiful dress Guin has settled on. The sleeves and shoulders are pitch black, as the fabric moves down to the floor it fades into a shimmering deep purple. At her waist, a slit opens revealing a silver under piece with a near-white corset.

Weeks later at the wedding Kael, being the overbearing husband he is. Helps me into my seat. Guin couldn't have picked a more perfect day. Birds are chirping and the sun casts a soft glow brightening the world.

As Guin gets ready all the guests take their seats. In the row in front of Kael and I. Sits Guin's quietly conversing parents. In their human forms of course. Scattered around are many of Guin's other dragon companions. Also in human form. It came as quite a shock that they can look human.

Under the draped pergola Neirin chats with Altair. The calm wind gently shifts the white fabric. Candles and flowers of white, gold and black surrounded the place where Guin had landed Koviet nearly a decade ago.

At the sound of the great doors being pushed open, everyone takes their places and stands. Even from here, I can see the expression Guin's face holds. She's in total awe of the courtyard. Guin's eyes lock with Neirin's and that's all she sees as Everest escorts her down the aisle.

Neirin stands a few feet away when Everest hands Guin off. She gently places her hands in Neirin's. The couple's grins tell a story worthy of the spirits. You can tell they're ready to take on the next chapter of their lives. The ceremony is short and sweet, unlike their time together.

"I'm ready to give my everything to you." Neirin grins as he pulls Guin into a kiss. Sealing their vows and lives together.
