Chapter 17 / Oh my gosh

Yeonjun awakened from a sleep that felt like it lasted for centuries, such as the reason for needing to consume something edible, he quickly got up and went straight downstairs, failing to recall his usual routine like taking a bath before going to eat breakfast.

While Yeonjun was in the middle of eating his breakfast that his mom made, his father suddenly entered the kitchen, it was allowed but what surprised him was that he still wasn't in work so obviously, he asked out of curiosity

" Appa, why aren't you in work yet ? " As he chewed his food

" Hm ? " His father was preparing coffee when he answered the question so he didn't hear it properly.

Yeonjun properly chewed his food and swallowed it before repeating his question " Why aren't you in work yet ? "

He raised his eyebrows while sipping his coffee " Oh... I thought your mother told you ? "

" Told me about what ? " Holding the chopsticks in his hand

He sighed, took the newspaper and continued to say " My boss told me to take a week off because he will arrange something important for me "

" He said I would really be busy with it so I must spend some time with my family before I go "

Yeonjun tilts his head " Where will you go, Appa ? "

" I don't know yet, he didn't tell me" You could tell his father was really gloomy about it

" I hope you're not going to another city " Yeonjun pouted, the thought of that already made him cry so seeing his father go was probably worse than the heartbreak he felt when he fell inlove with Soobin

" I hope so too but if that's the case, you guys can come with me, I don't care if it's just for a day " Yeonjun's frown turned into a smile, he was relieved and so was his father

A few minutes after the conversation, Yeonjun's father called his boss to ask what it was all about and that maybe he didn't deserve the one week off.

" Sajangnim, may I ask you a question ? "
" Yes yes, what is it ? "
" What is it that made you give me a one week off ? "
" Oh, I may have forgotten to tell you that but you're actually going to another city **** "
" I have already guessed that but maybe I don't deserve the one week off "
" Why ? Does your family detest you ?"
" No— but if I am going to another city, may I bring my family with me ? "

" So, do I have to go to work today ?"

His father ended the call, overjoyed and excited to tell Yeonjun and his wife the news, they were finally going to another city and it was Yeonjun's first time to leave their home city although he was excited to tell them the news, he wanted it to be a surprise and planned to tell it in the evening, during their dinner.

Yeonjun on the other hand, was munching on his food trying to eavesdrop but unfortunately, he didn't have hearing superpowers. Yeonjun didn't have classes that day since their teacher called in sick, so he spent the morning trying to think of what to do throughout the day.
