Okay I love Ruikasa but AKIRUI FHSIFJSIF I ADORE THEM
~~~The station was flooded with people coming from all directions, greeting their significant others, their friends, and whoever else returning from their travels. It was loud and bright, as trains pulled in and out releasing clouds of steam and shrieks of whistles, and the sun peeked through the glass roof from up high.
It was here he stood, in the middle of the crowd, watching and waiting for the one he called the love of his life. The ticking of his wrist watch seemed to soothe him in an odd way. It was the next one right? One more, just one more then he could see him. So he stood there, just waiting.
He'd planned everything out in his head. No big celebration or tear-fest, just a greeting, a kiss, and the biggest hug he could possibly give. Then he'd ask how it had been all the way out where he was, and listen to his rambles once more. He so desperately wanted to hear the sound of his lover's voice once more.
A few minutes ticked into an hour, an hour ticked to a few. Nothing. With each train, with each whistle, it chipped at his mind, slowly showing signs of cracking and bursting out. And yet, still nothing.
This wasn't right. Where was he? Surely he couldn't have- no he was much stronger than that. That couldn't have happened. He would have received a letter by now if that had happened. But still, there was a possibility. His world came to a halt, his face numb with the cold.
Night fell quickly. The trains slowed, and the atmosphere around him changed. It was true, wasn't it. He was gone. Surely that wasn't the case, there were a few trains left until the station shut, he could have been late and got one of those? He clung to the tiny spec of hope left, before his world was absolutely shattered.
The last of the lamps were lit around him. Two more trains, two more chances. 'Please,' he'd thought, 'come home.' but unfortunately, his wishes weren't heard. It was really late, and the last train pulled into the station, and came to a screeching stop before him. Strangers passed him, and finally, it hit him.
Rui Kamishiro...the light of Akito Shinonome's world, the love of his life, his everything, was gone.
Akito slowly stumbled out of the train station, but couldn't stop himself in the end. He fell onto his knees against a wall, and underneath the beaming streetlight, began to cry his heart out. He didn't care anymore. He didn't care who saw, who stared, whatever. There was nothing he could do.
And all he did was wait foolishly, knowing that he'd already heard the message a week prior.
