Kobe style Poem

Dear Trees,

I just want to say a few things:

thank you

Thank you not just because of the oxygen you produce,

The carbon you take in,

The shade you give,

The wood we use for multiple reasons,

But because of the paper and pencils you make.

Thank you not just because without you people can't breathe,

Without you somethings wouldn't exist,

Without you people wouldn't have a house

Without you people would probably be suffering,

But because without you she'd be lost.

Thank you not just because the books you wrote,

The songs you sang,

The pictures you took,

The memories you have,

But for the inspiration you gave her.

she thought she would be a math teacher,

Or an expert in arithmetic,

Just because she likes numbers.

But now she knows that she is a writer,

A poet,

And that 4 year-old girl that fell in love with both letters and numbers.

The love you gave that 4 year-old girl grew, as she grew,

A love so deep, she is still digging.

And I thank you for that.

Thank you for giving her hope.

When she was down all she did was write.

Even if it wasn't you, it was still you she used,

You were her sliver of hope when she needed it most.

And I thank you for that.

She gave her heart and soul to you,

Her blood and bones,

Even if it was on a piece of paper,

It was still part of you

And she gave you her ALL.

So I, Lo-Co Lylac, just wanted you to know:

Thank you for the oxygen you produce.

Thank you for the carbon you take in.

Thank you for the shade you give.

Thank you for the wood that we use for multiple reasons.

Thank you for the paper and pencils you make.

Thank you for letting her breathe.

Thank you for letting things exist.

Thank you for letting her have a house.

Thank you for not letting her suffer.

Thank you for finding her.

Thank you for the books you wrote.

Thank you for the songs you sang.

Thank you for the pictures you took.

Thank you for the memories we share.

Thank you for inspiring her.

Thank you for giving that 4 year-old girl the love for letters and numbers.

Thank you for believing in her.

Thank you for the sliver of hope.

Thank you for giving her the love and care she needed.

Most of all, thank you for being you.

She and I will always love you for that.

Thank You,

Always and Forever,

Lo-Co Lylac

I wrote this one in 7th grade, same concept tho. But this I chose trees because there is a lot that they do and I don't think anyone has ever really thanked them. The her I kept referring to was me but the baby girl that's in my soul.
