Secret in the shadows ( the lost Boys )

Carousel Accident

The night arose and the lost boys woke to the sound of giggles coming from the lobby part of the sunken hotel. Dwayne looked down at his youngest brother finding no Maddie beside him. The native flew down from the pole and landed next to the bed, shaking the curly haired vampire awake. The rest of the boys now awake and putting on their shoes, they walked to the main part of the cave that was now lit up by the fire barrels. Sitting on the bed with colorful drapes was Star. The long brown curly haired women sat reading a book to the two children; Laddie and Maddie sat on the bed beside her listening closely as she read one of their books. Star was great with the two kids, trying to be a good role model since the four older boys couldn't seem to do it most of the time 

The two children were now aware of the boys being awake they ran right to Dwayne, he picked up them both up off the ground and into a tight hug. The children adored him, it was very sweet and you would've never known the man was a statistic killer of the night if you see the way he acts around the kids. Maddie and Laddie knew that tonight was their night to go to the boardwalk with Star and they loved the idea knowing they were going to be able to candy because Star just couldn't say no to the young kids. Maddie looked up to Dwayne, her and Laddie wanted to go on some rides and usually Dwayne was the one to go with them. 

" hey D". The quiet vampire sat the kids down and stared at his younger sister,  ' yes Maddie'. Laddie and I want to go on rides will you take us please. " yeah please " said Laddie.  " we've got a meeting with Max tonight" David had said through their mind link, the man cursed under his breath he had forgotten about that. I don't know about rides tonight mads, dad needs to see me and the boys tonight remember. They had to be careful about saying Max's name around Star because she would find out that he is the head vampire and try something on them. 

Maddie sighed she knew she wasn't going to win this battle so she just let it go. Maybe Star would be generous enough to take them on a couple rides but she was  hardly ever happy to go on the boardwalk even if it was for the ten and five year old. David stood up from his wheelchair; alright let's get a move on won't be dark forever he said as he walked out of the cave. Paul had ran behind the small girl picking her up by her waist and sitting her upon his shoulders. She squealed as his fingers dug into her side tickling her just a little bit. 

Laddie was big enough to sit behind Dwayne, but the boys didn't risk Maddie sitting behind one of them worrying that they might take a turn too quickly or she might " forget" to hang on. So she still sits in front of one of the boys, she doesn't mind it though. The ride to the boardwalk was exciting, the boys yelling and cheering, and the two children giggling with excitement. Star had made an agreement that if they sit through dinner being good she would take them to the carousel, as if their night couldn't get any better she had gotten them ice cream. Star knew Laddie knew his was around the boardwalk so when she saw them get on the horses she walked to the clothing store indenting to find something for the two growing kids.

Laddie and Maddie loved the carousel. They had certain horses that they sit on each time; Laddie's horse was white with a green saddle and sparkly reigns, while Maddie's was black with a purple saddle and silver reigns. Their laughing came to a halt when a couple groups of Surf Nazi's were fighting over a seat. Laddie watched behind them observing the situation making sure to stay out of the way of conflict. Both groups started a physical fight. The main boys from both groups started pushing each other closer to the children. And before they knew it all hell broke loose. Guys punching guys, girls pushing girls. Until one guy had been pushed right into Maddie. The young girl fell off the horse before Laddie could get to her, landing on the ground off the ride. Laddie gasped as did the crowd that had formed around, everyone stopped fighting and looked down at the small girl.
