Vampires

DAVIDS POV 

Max I don't think that's a good idea.  Max nodded his head looking at his eldest son. ' Look I know you don't want to'. Like hell, I'm not sending her over there with them. I don't trust them not one bit I cut  Max off. She can stay with us like she does every time before. Max nodded again ' okay you leave me no choice. Maddie' Max screamed out for his daughter. The sounds of her small feet running through the cave to the lobby area. ' Daddy' the small girl loved her father dearly. Max smiled picking her up ' hey there my little vampire. Do you want to come with me to see Lucy'. Maddie smiled and looked behind Max at me almost like she was asking to go with him. 

I nodded my head giving her a small smile. She frowned and looked back at Max. ' I don't know if I want to go daddy'. I looked back at Maddie with a shocked expression she's never declined to spending time with the man we call father. She wiggled out of Maxs arms and walked slowly towards me making grabby hands wanting me to pick her up. I crouched down to her level holding my hands out as she hugged me tightly, I stood up with her in my arms . Paul, Marko, and Dwayne walked in from feeding. Paul laughed ' see I told you she's been clingy towards David, Marko'. Dwayne laughed as he sat on the old couch, Paul held is hand out as Marko slapped a ten dollar bill in it. 

" Maddie are you sure you don't want to come with me", Max was being pushy and the young girl couldn't decide, she didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Maddie nodded into Davids neck. Max said goodbye to his children walking out of the cave.

Maddie was taking her nap, laying softly upon Paul who lied on the couch allowing the small girl to sleep on his chest. He covered her up with his jacket so she wouldn't get too cold. Laddie was sitting on the floor coloring in his book. After about an hour of relaxing David decided to get up and go to the boardwalk. Marko moved over shaking Paul awake since he had fallen asleep, being careful of the sleeping girl on his chest.. Taking the small girl from his arms moving her to lay on his shoulder. She cuddled into Marko whining at the lack of warmth from Paul's jacket, Dwyane walked out of space where they slept carrying Maddie's small black coat, putting her tiny little arms through the holes before zipping it up the best he could with her asleep on Marko. 

The ride to the boardwalk was crazy as usual. Marko being a bit calmer than his brothers. He didn't want to wake up his baby girl and have her be cranky the rest of the night because she didn't get enough sleep. When they got there Laddie and Star ran through the crowds leaving the vampires by the railing. Marko leaned over looking at the people below rubbing his hand up and down Maddie's back. Even though the trouble making boys had a young girl with them now people did not stop fearing them with their intimidating figures and scolding looks, people did not dare mess with Maddie either or the would feel the consequences. Michael walked over not seeing the young vampire in Marko's arms. He shoved Paul and pushed Marko into the railing , Marko's frame pushed against his sisters leg into the fence causing pain that woke the girl up. She immediately tried to mover her leg as she did it rubbed against the railing causing her to cry in pain. Michael was about to grab David but he turned hearing the girls small cry. Paul pulled his baby sister from Marko as he looked over her tiny leg that was already forming a bruise, it would heal quick though. 

Michael turned back to David grabbing him asking for Star. " Michael if you ever want to see Star again you better come with us now". Dwayne walked over to Maddie bumping into Michael , he was upset if Michael would have been paying attention he would've seen the small bundle in Marko's arms. " I'm sorry Maddie I didn't mean to hurt you" Michael sounded sincere. Maddie looked up from Paul's shoulder dried tears on her face " it's okay ". David smiled, his sister was the sweetest person he knew, she forgave and forgot so quickly. It amazes him everyday. She was learning so well and has not once spilled their secret to anyone, and keeping secrets is extremely hard for a five year old.

The group pulled up to a secluded part of the beach where there was a party going on. Maddie hoped off of Dwayne's bike wide awake from the ride. The boys climbed up the tree, Dwayne grabbing Maddie's arm pulling her up to sit on his leg that was propped up by a branch. She giggled when he tickled her stomach. David turned towards Michael . " Michael, over here, you don't want to miss this". Michael made his way over climbing up a single tree limb looking down at the party. 

" Initiations over, time to join the club". David showed his vamped out face and Michael shook out of fear, he turned toward Dwayne as he laughed at him. The young girls face was turned away as gripped the native mans leather jacket. Michael thought she was probably scared and was just hugging whatever she could grab onto. He looked up to Marko seeing his face was the same " hi Michael". Paul laughed like a maniac with his sharp teeth showing. David looked over to Dwayne letting him know that it was time to put Maddie asleep so she doesn't loose control, then looked over at Paul mentally asking if he had her cup, Paul winked and pulled his coat to the side showing her little pink cup in the inside pocket. 

The boys flew up and Dwayne lied Maddie on Marko's jacket so she wouldn't get sand on herself. Then started attacking the party goers. Michael screamed falling out of the tree tumbling down landing next to the young girl. The boys walked up the hill covered in blood and breathing heavily. Michael pulled the tiny sleeping girl close to him trying to protect her from these monsters that she supposedly called her brothers. The poor girl probably didn't know any better he thought. " That won't do any good Michael, even you know that we won't hurt her" Paul said in between breaths. Michael looked back down at the girl as she started to wake up. These weren't one of her brothers arms, she whimpered " Davy" she said making grabby hands up in the air. David moved towards them picking up his baby sister. " I've got you baby bat". She loved that nickname, Paul had given it to her after she had to turn full, he thought it make her feel better and he was correct. It was definitely her favorite. " Paulie has you something for you to drink" David passed her towards Paul, he sat her on her feet giving her, her cup. She gripped it with her two tiny hands leaning against his leg. 

Michael sat watching the girl drink the blood from the cup. He couldn't believe it, they had done this to this little girl. " So now you know what we are, and now you know what you are, you'll never grow old Michael and you'll never die. But you must feed". The boys laughed, Maddie just looked up at them. Dwyane picked her up wiping her mouth, kissing her cheek letting her know that she could go to sleep if she wanted to. Dwayne hated luring her to sleep when they fed because it so much energy out of the girl, even though she's sleeping she's not gaining any energy. Maddie wrapped her small arms around his neck, playing with his long dark hair. 

The boys got on their bikes riding back to the cave. Paul, Dwayne, and Marko flew up to their spots on the elevator shaft. David sat down with Maddie on her bed " are you sure you want to sleep by yourself tonight". Maddie looked up at her big brother and nodded. " Okay babe. If you need anything fly up and get us ". Maddie smiled and stood up hugging David. He smiled holding the small girl in his arms, kissing her head telling her it was time for bed.
