Chapter 2

A/N-- Hey thanks for reading. I would like to say that I can hopefully can get this book longer in the coming days but I am busy with moving so my updates with this book may be a day or two apart maybe I don't
know but I will be working on this book almost everyday when I can. But i hope you guys like this book :) And at the top is how Amari looks. I'm not good at drawing realistic so I drew her how I usually draw but I hope you like it.

Amari's pov-

I am in the link room waiting for my aunt, Norm and Jake. Max is already in the room looking at charts of the two avatars making sure everything is going smoothly before the guys get into the pods. I was sitting on my pod when I hear the doors open and I hear my Aunt talk " How much link time have you logged?" Aunt Grace asked. I got up and went over to them as they were at there pods. "Five hundred and twenty hours." Norm said I nodded impresed.
I looked over at Jake, he was sitting in his wheelchair by his pod putting his hand on the green silicone like stuff that is in the pod. " how much have you logged" Aunt Grace asked Jake giving him a pointed look. " Like-- an hour." He said " Tell me your joking." Aunt Grace deadpanned " Aunt Grace." I said My aunt looked at me and saw a disapproving look hopeing she gets the point that I don't like the way she is treating Jake. Aunt Grace rolls her eyes and goes to help Jake get in but Jake stops her "Don't I got this" He said.My aunt steps back with her hands raised. I watch Jake push himself onto the pod and sit in the pod. his legs were not in the pod yet. Aunt Grace turned to the computer pushing buttons on it to make sure Jake can link into his avatar with no problems. " So you just figured you'd come out here to the most hostile environment known to man, with no training of any kind, and see how it went? What was going through your head?" My aunt asked. I looked over at Jake and I saw him give my aunt a difiant glare as he told her. " Maybe I was just tired of doctors telling me what I can and couldn't do."
      As he was talking he pulled his legs one at a time into the pod. "Hm thats a good reason I supposed." I say I looked up to see them both looking at me with a look one of confusion and one of suprised. " What? did I say something wierd or something?" I asked. My aunt shook her head and turned her head back to the screen while Jake looked at me and chuckled and layed down. I smiled " Im going to talk to Max and then im going into my avatar." I said as I was turning to head over to Max. " Ok Amari I'll be there in a couple" I heared my aunt say while I was walking away.
What I didn't know was that I didn't see a certain pair of marienes eyes watching me walk away with a small smile on his face. As I was getting close to Max I said loud enough for one of the tech's to hear " Can someone get my pod ready I'm gonna go in, in a couple?" I said as I see one of the female tech's run to my pod to get it ready. " Thank you" I thanked the tech as I get to Max " Hey Max good moring, I just want to tell you that Im going in." I told him. "Good morning Amari, Ok well I have to make sure those two get in there avatar's smoothly without complications." he said " Ok well see ya." I said while turning to head to my pod. I get into it and close my eyes.

Jake's Pov--

I was definitely watching her walk away. She was beautiful, Yesterday when Max introduced Norm and I, I couldn't keep my eyes off of her she has beautiful blue eyes, long curly black hair that goes down till mid back. Amari has light tan skin with freckels on her face from one cheek over her cute button nose to her other cheek. Man she looked at me and she smiled while shaking my hand I felt my heart skip a beat but I made sure that my true emotions didn't show because one I didn't want to seem wierd to her or anyone and two I am still kinda not sure about this whole avatar thing. I got interupted from my thought's when Amari's Aunt Grace say " Relax and let your mind go blank. That shouldn't be hard for you" I smirked annoyed " Kiss the darkest part of my lily white--" I was about to finish my sentence when Grace slammed the pod's hood shut.
      I closed my eyes and I saw a colorful lined to what im guessing is my soul going into my avatar body. finally I see black and I opened my eyes. my vision is blurry but hear people talking. but I wasn't listening I was staring at my legs I can feel them like actully feel  them. I know my smile is big because it's been long since I could feel my legs. I go to stand up from the gurney I hear yelling for me to sit down from the two techs but I really don't care, I feel my tail hit the table that have medical stuff on them while I go to the door I hear Norm getting up to do I don't know what because all I wanna do is run and that is what I did run I got out the door to outside and I was still in the medical robe and I know my backside is showing while I run through a garden my legs feeling strong.
      I come to a stop in the middle of strange plants digging my toes into the dirt feeling how ruff yet soft the dirt is when I suddenly hear "Hey Marine!" I hear the fimiliar voice of Grace. I turn towards her she's smiling while walking towards me " Grace?" I ask.  "Well who'd expect, numbnuts?... Think fast!" She said while throwing me a fruit of some sorts. I take a bite out of the fruit I feel the juice run down my chin. " Motor control is looking good." Grace said.
   I hear rushed foot steps coming towards us as I hear " Hey, check it out." Norm said as I turned towards him seeing him posing like a bodybuilder, his backside did show for a couple seconds.
    "Thanks Norm i'm so greatful that I saw your bear bum. That has made my day." A femiliar voice said sarcastically. I turned to see Amari I froze she was stunning both in human and avatar form. She wore a maroon tank top with green kakhaki shorts, and tan boots. Her hair was wavy and went down to mid waist she has some red and green beads in her hair on both sides of her face. " Jake I don't know whats got you busy in your head but here is your clothes" Amari said taking me out of my  thoughts I took the clothes from her and went to go change into them in the cabin where we will be at sometime tonight.

*Time skip*

    I'm sitting on my bed in nothing but a shirt and boxers looking at my long braied queue from what Grace called it wondering why these little tentacle like things are moving. While I was thinking this Amari comes into view " Don't mess with that or you'll go blind Jake" she said while patting my back before she went to her bed and layed down. I looked away from her and back to my queue " That's kinda freaky." I said while I let it go while I lay down in my bed. I hear Grace as she turns off the lights after she let the tech people leave " Light out amigo's see ya' at dinner." She said. I closed my eyes and I see the colorfull light tunnel then I see nothing but black. I open my eyes to see I am in the pod as Max opens the top. I sit up to see Grace in her pod thats beside mine stretching. I look behind Grace to see Amari standing up stretching she turned around towards her aunt and she looks tired. " Well im going to get some shut eye I'll see you all tomorrow for the adventure we are going to go on. Goodnight. She said while starting to walk away. " Ok good night sweetheart. big day tomorrow. " Grace said while Norm, Max and I said goodnight. I get into my wheelchair heading to my room to get some sleep.
