    Ukitake Jūshirō stands with barely any indication that he shouldn't be here. He pretends that the sharp stare from Unohana Retsu, Captain of the 4th Division, wasn't digging knives into his face. Shunsui casually moves his hand further behind his kimono, making Jūshirō answer with a gentle brush against his own leg.

  His disease was acting up too much for him to be here, but he couldn't miss it. Someone had framed his subordinate and that someone was in this room.

  "Everyone's here?" Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni, Sōtaichō of the Gotei 13 and the Captain of the 1st Division, commences the meeting without any acknowledgement about Jūshirō's uncleared appearance. "Alright then. We will now begin with the subject of our meeting... Captain of the 3rd Division, Ichimaru Gin!"

  Jūshirō watches the doors open to reveal the young captain. He keeps his expression passive and his reiatsu in a tight hold.

  Jūshirō spares Shunsui a glance, only having a few moments before entering the room to tell him what Abarai Renji had revealed just prior to the emergency call for a meeting.

  Ryoka are meant to be dealt with immediately, that is true. But, by those with the jurisdiction. Why would Ichimaru Gin go out of his way–out of his jurisdiction to attack the ryoka? And why did he leave them alive?

  "What's going on? Is it really that serious... to call everyone here? Captains from around Soul Society, did you really come back here, just for me?" Gin feigns a mocking innocence.

  He spots Jūshirō and seems to appear shocked. "Oh? Have you been healed enough to be here, Captain of the 13th? What good news!"

  "Enough, thank you." Jūshirō smiles pleasantly as if he didn't know what Gin was most likely a part of. He ignores Retsu's stare when it gets sharper at the bold-faced lie. Hopefully she won't actually dig knives into his face and just knock him out.

  "Stop wasting time! I heard that... an intruder managed to bypass the gate and you went out of your jurisdiction to deal with him, but you failed to eliminate the threat? Why? With your skill, one intruder should be easier than a piece of cake," Zaraki Kenpachi, Captain of the 11th Division, speaks up with a scowl.

  "Ara... he didn't die. Hmm..." Gin casually scratches the back of his head with a mocking grin. "Strange. I was so sure I took care of him. Did my senses grow dull?"

  Kurotsuchi Mayuri, Captain of the 12th Division, chuckles derisively, side-eyeing the silver haired captain. "Stop playing games. It's impossible for a captain to be unable to detect if his opponent has been exterminated. Can it be that you deliberately failed, and you are using your "carelessness" as an excuse?"

  "There we go again. Old men and their pointless arguments... what a pain," Hitsugaya Tōshirō, Captain of the 10th Division, huffs with an eye roll.

  "Oh no~! Are you saying I deliberately let them go?" Gin clarifies in a tone like this was all a game to him.

  "Exactly."

  "Shut up, Kurotsuchi! I was talking first, so buzz off! Though, if you want me to kill you, keep talking," Kenpachi sneers callously.

  "How dull..." Suìfēng, Captain of the 2nd Division and Commander-in-Chief of the Onmitsukidō, mutters with distaste at the blatant ignorance of any kind of respect.
