CHAPTER 1: Something from the past
February, 19th, 2068,
I climbed up the ladder going through the long accordion-like pipe that runs to the surface. There were long twine like ropes on the sides that held light going all the way down. I grabbed the last ring of the 25 foot tall ladder and pulled open the hatch. I start getting up.
I opened the front door of the shed-like building, it was this mostly concrete building with a metal door and a low hanging roof.
I Was told that I needed to go back up onto the surface to get some more supplies for the bunker. It was unusually foggy outside, I could barely see a couple meters ahead of me. It was also raining quite hard.
I pull out my revolver and put on my gas mask. I started running in the mud towards the forest.
My feet slipping and splashing in the mud. The crashing of me hitting the leaves and the pounding of the rain.
I Slip on the mud and fall onto something cold. I get up and try to steady myself.
"It's a bunker" I say to myself
I Put my stuff down and open the hatch.
"I'll just go in and get out. Waste no time" I add
I climb down the ladder and drop down onto the ground. I walk down the low flight of stairs. There were around 65 steps of stairs. I then go over and open the bent down door. I enter the small square shaped room. There was another door on the opposite end of where I was. I reach for my flashlight in my backpack and hook it onto my shirt. I turn it on and it starts flickering on. It was a pretty bright flashlight. And it reached pretty far too.
I climb through the shattered glass window to the side of the closed door. I cut my right ring finger. I wipe the blood off on my pants. I hear something coming from the entrance of the bunker and turn to look at it.
The door of the bunker slams shut. And something hits the ground.
"HEY WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" the man yells.
"Huh?" "Who are you?"
"Rodger, You?" he said"
"Just call me Sarah." i told him quietly
"Now Sarah, where exactly are we right now?" he asked
"I have not even the slightest clue of where we are, right now at least." I replied
"... Follow me." I told him.
I Got him to follow me through the door and go farther down into the old bunker. I walked down a long hallway littered with garbage. I pulled out my rifle from my backpack and kicked open the door at the end of the hallway. Rodger followed closely behind. Always making sure that he doesn't lose sight of me.
I make sure that nothing sneaks up on us by looking to the sides before entering rooms.
First I entered a strange office looking room. There were a couple shelves in the corners and a desk at the opposite end of the room I was at.. There was a faint odor of something decaying but I had no clue where it was coming from. The smell had started becoming heavier and heavier the farther I went inside the room. I eventually felt it was overwhelming and turned back. Only after I looked at the strange looking computer sitting on the desk.
"There was something dying in there"
"Do you know what it was?" he asked
"I Don't know, the smell of it just became overwhelming after a while and I had to turn back." I said.
