Lia's POV

We finally came back to camp and got a fire started. I began to shiver as the temperature seemed to drop again. So now here we sit around the fire pit just outside the cave, laughing and telling jokes. It seems the more I am with these boys, my family, the more human they become. The sky had finally stopped raining just a little bit ago, no thanks to me who caused it. But now we were resting, eating and just taking in all the warmth the fire and I was generating. I was so glad that I told them my secret, being open and free made me feel so much lighter.

I was daydreaming, thinking back on London and the home Seun-yong grew up in, when I felt a nudge in my side. Kadence looked at me and shook his head, grinning. "Yes?" I said and grinned.

"Cristian is talking to you."

I gasp and turn to him, "I'm so sorry!"

He shakes his head and laughs, "I asked why this never happened before?"

I thought back, why did I go dormant for so long? Was it the fear of being with them or with Mercy?

"I'm not sure, really. I didn't know I was that powerful to tell you the truth."

August giggles, "Yeah, because Kadence looks freaky as a human."

I saw Kadence roll his eyes and blow him a raspberry, "At least I look hot there August!"

August growls at him before laughing, "You are such an ass, mate."

I shake my head, "I just can't believe that Mercy could hurt you like that Kadence. I'm so very sorry." I said. I did feel bad for him changing, but in a way it was a good thing. They could become human again.

Kadence shakes his head, "Don't worry about it. Having my original eye color won't kill me."

"And he looks hot." Jackson retorts, sending us all into laughter.

I wipe the tears from my eyes from laughing so hard. I heard the others groan at his joke.

I sit back and look to the stars, "What happens now?" I asked.

I feel Seun-yong slip his hand into mine, "We rest for tonight. It's late and after all this excitement, we need to unwind. In the morning, we will begin moving up into the mountains."

"Sounds good to me." Kadence said and yawned. That made me do a double look. Never before had I seen Kadence sleep. But he was human again, so it would take some getting used to. I just felt bad for the others; they had two humans to protect and not just me. And one they needed to hunt down and capture. "I guess I need some sleep." He says, "It feels weird to feel tired."

I smile, "Well, you will have to relearn to be human, huh?" I asked. "Then maybe one day all of you can become human again."

Jackson groaned, "But I will get fat!" he whines.

"Shut up fatty." August says and shakes his head.

Seun-yong just kissed my cheek, "One day I will be human and can be with you. But for now, you need to rest, my love."

I move over to cuddle with him. I smile. "You're right, my love. I love you."

He kisses me on the lips, whispering, "I love you too."

I heard the others gush. I blushed and turned my face into his chest. He just laughed.

"Shut up!" Seun-yong says and he pulls me further into an embrace. I feel him lift me up and walk over to place me on a blanket near the fire. He then covered me with another. I watched as Kadence was motioned over and told to lie next to me. It was awkward, yes, but we could keep one another warm and we only had so many blankets on hand.
