"We're all the lost generation of kids of one that came before us and now, we've gotta finish what they couldn't."

To which Mavis Henderson only cared about keeping a certain Carpenter girl safe. While trying to keep her...

Mavis was walking back and forth her dimly lit and well kept room, putting her black jean jacket on leaving to go meet Tara. Leaving out to her car, she let out a blissful sigh as she finally felt her anti-psychotics start to take its effect. The taller girl looked at her phone as she heard her phone go off. The phone lit up revealing a message from Tara. Unknowingly smiling at the thought at the Carpenter girl.
Tara❤️🧸 Where are you? You didn't ditch me did you?
Mavis tapped on the message looking at it in deep thought and longing, the vibration of her phone knocking her out of her day dream.
Tara❤️🧸 I know you're there Henderson.
Mavis silently giggled at the Carpenter girls antics before gliding her thumbs across the keyboard.
Mavi🧛♀️❤️ Woah there Carpenter I'm just a few blocks away from your place. Miss me that much love?
Mavis gained a sly grin on her face as she saw the text bubbles from Tara pop up but disappeared just as quick as the came. A small grin took over her features as she put her phone in the cup holder. Tara Carpenter was gonna be the death of her. Mavis felt an ominous and unnerving feeling, almost as though someone was watching her.
She started her car before looking around the dark but dimly lit streets that surrounded her, the feeling still present in her body, but completely unaware of the dangers lurking around.

The landline rang loudly as it echoed through the empty house. Once again Tara Carpenter was home alone. Red flag number one, being home alone is big Nono in any horror movie. Just like Mavis, her mother wasn't too present in her life, her sister Sam left at the fresh age of eighteen without a single word or even reason. Her father was nowhere to be seen or heard from, probably off somewhere being a deadbeat just like the story goes.
The brunette peered over the counter, taking a brief look at who was calling so late 'Unknown Caller' displayed across the screen. She silently debated answering or not. Just a wrong number right? She hit decline and went on about her night, they wouldn't call back right? She ignored the unsettling eerie feeling that was crawling up her throat as she went back to her phone swiping back to her and Amber's messages.
Tara Do you really think I'll be able to tell her how I feel?
Tara paced around in a small circle, anxiously waiting for Amber's response as it reflected off the screen.
Amber An unlocked liquor cabinet? You don't need to worry just let the alcohol take effect and Little Bridger will be wrapped around your finger.
The shorter girl subtly rolled her eyes. Now don't get her wrong, Mavis was a great but having a family history like hers in a town like theirs. It's pretty hard for people to trust you without thinking you're gonna stab them in a Halloween costume.
