Morgan's POV

"OK! Time for presents!" My mom yells from her spot at the head of the table.

Only then had I realized that she had moved a chair to the center of the kitchen with a shit ton of presents on each side.

"Little shit is so spoiled" Mckenzi laughs.

"Mhmmm, you know we are to blame for that right?" I reply.

"No. Mom is for having us 12 years apart, what was she thinking?"

"I don't think she was" I say with a chuckle.

"Mia, come sit down so everyone can see you open up your gifts they got you, and I want to hear you read every single card out loud with a 'thank you' please."

And the girl of the day appears with a roll of her eyes she says, "Yeah ma, I got it." and plops her tiny butt into the chair.

"Alright, nice and slow so we can all get pictures." My mom says.

With a nod of her head she looks around. I pray she doesn't pick mine up first. I don't say anything because that would make the little shit do it just to spite me.

Of course she goes for the biggest one in the back, she reads the card, thanks my grandparents and rips the wrapping paper to shreds.

"A NEW BIKE!" she squeals. I cover my ears due to the piercing sound, I should be used to this after 11 years.

"Holy fuck, she has a set of lungs on her." Ben says as he looks back at me with a stupid smirk.

"You have no idea. Try living with her as a newborn." Mckenzi nods her head in agreement.

After what seems like hours of wrapping and tissue paper flying all over the house she has finally gotten down to her last gift, mine.

I move about as close as I can to her without obstructing other peoples view or getting in their pictures that will most definitely end up on Facebook, sit down on the floor, and hit record on my phone.

She grabs the box that is just about the size of her and rips the card off of the front.

"To my best friend, you're 11 today and I could not feel any older. Time has flown, we have made so many memories, and I hope one day you have everything your little heart dreams of. I love you my little XPLR'r.
Love,
Your favorite sister"

She finishes and looks up at me with glossy eyes and a small smile.

"Always a sap for a heartfelt card." I mutter with a smug grin.

And before I can so much as blink she is shredding through the wrapping paper that took me way longer than I would like to admit to put together.

With a big sigh she flings open the box and grabs the first thing she sees.

"Sam and Colby." she basically whimpers at the sight of her new hoodie that is definitely two sizes to big for her right now and hugs it to her chest.

"Oh god, she is never taking that thing off" Mom says.

"There's more." I say and point to the box, urging her to keep going.

"MORE?!?" she screams, yet again.

I refrain from holding my hands to my ears due to them being occupied holding my phone to record.

"Two hoodies, two t shirts, a hat, and a phone case. If they see you in public they won't be able to miss ya." I say.

"There should be one more thing in there, an envelope."

She looks at the bottom of the now empty box and grabs the manilla envelope with a black bow tapped to the front.

"Oh fuck" I hear Mckenzi say behind me, I can't keep the smile off my face.

She opens the envelope and begins to read the contents, she is quiet and I'm not sure if it is because she hates it, is about to cry, or just doesn't understand.

She looks up with tears in her eyes, and hands the paper work to my mom.

She reads for a second. "What Morgan?"

I smile shyly.

"WHAT IS IT??" someone screams in the group of spectators.

"Mia is going to Orlando, Florida" my mom says loud enough for everyone to hear.

"For what?" I egg on my mom to continue reading, as I look over at the shocked little girl sitting in the chair next to her.

"Playlist Live?"

"Mhmm, do you know what that means?" I ask Mia directly.

"Sam and Colby?" she asks quietly.

"Sam and Colby." I reply definitively.

We sit there, waiting for her reaction.

"I think you killed our little sister, she hasn't even blinked." Mckenzi whispers.

Neither have I, watching her intently. Waiting for any change in emotion, at this point anything at all- she is frozen.

Finally she looks around, with her little lips quivering. She stands, practically rips the paperwork out of my moms hands and sprints to me. Launching herself into my arms, wrapping her little arms around my neck and squeezing. I fall onto my back, my arms wrap around her tiny torso, and my phone goes flying... I guess that is the end of my video.

I feel tears flowing down her cheeks and onto my neck. I say nothing, just rub her back soothingly. I don't even know what to say if I wanted to.
