"Hi!" Said the voice of the character in white just as Mu Qing had woken up. The previous night had taken them until early the next morning, ending with no progress of course. It was around 3 when Xie Lian had left.
"Hi, WAIT! What the- this is an invasion of privacy, I told you not to come back!"
"You did? I don't remember," a smile was shown from underneath his mask and a chuckle could be heard in his voice.
"Why you!"
"Setsuko Yūrei!" He said, holding out a hand.
"What?"
"Setsuko Yūrei, that's my name!"
"Normally thieves and kidnappers don't tell they're victims their names!"
"I guess I'm just special like that!"
"So you admit you are here to kidnap me!"
"What? NO! Of course not!" Said Yūrei waving his hands in a panicked manner.
"Then what do you want?"
"To be friends!"
"..."
"I know you don't have many but-!"
"I haven't got time for this nonsense," sighed Mu Qing, covering Yūrei's mouth.
Mu Qing then lazily picked himself up, walked over to his desk and grabbed the piece of paper Ling Wen had given him.
"Vampires?"
"What's wrong Qing er?"
"Nothing, just my next mission!"
"What's wrong with it? I can help!"
"Ha! Good luck! It's about vampires!"
"Vampires at, you're in luck I just happen to be an expert on this subject!" He proudly proclaimed holding his thumb out and pointing it to himself.
"The vampires are a mystery to the three realms, no human ghost or god understands what they are. Are they immortal or dead, powerful or weak. The answer is they are neither dead or alive, but more of an in between state. As far as power goes, the more power you have the more control, a lot like the ghost realm. A couple of hundred years ago a rumour was started by an unknown voice, it said "vampires are a mistake in the world, a dead body clinging onto life, and so they drink the souls of humans and gods to stay alive!" Nobody knew who the person was who said it, if it's human or something else, all they knew was that it struck fear into the world and so the vampires became outcasts and haven't been seen since. What I don't understand is why your mission involves the vampires, they disappeared ages ago!"
"You sure know a lot don't you, to answer your question, apparently vampires have been returning in the south. A prayer for help was sent to the Heavenly Emperor for help, but it was ignored. Ling wen found out and then gave me this mission in exchange for one I've gifted her myself."
"And what pray tell is this mission?"
"Why should I tell you?"
"Didn't I just relay to you the secrets of the vampires! I believe we will be even if you tell me what you're doing,"
"Ugh, fine! I apparently need to capture these things and bring them to heaven for 'interrogation', and by interrogation I mean the pathetic gods will scream insults and torture methods at the vampires until they decide on a way to kill them. Not my favourite job, but a job is a job even if it's cleaning or cooking or capturing and torturing vampires, I still must do it!"
"Don't you hate brooms though!"
"I hope you die," Mu Qing said, a chilling glare sent in Yūrei's direction.
"duly noted! When do we leave?!"
"What?"
"Do you really think I'm going to allow you to endanger yourself by running after vampires, because if so then you've got a screw loose honey!"
"Why do I feel like a wife who just got told off by her husband," muttered Mu Qing to himself whilst rolling his eyes.
"You're rolling your eyes again, stop before they stay stuck facing your brain!"
"My brain? Whatever, we'll leave at night!"
"Why night?"
"Don't vampires avoid the sunlight?"
"So do ghosts, plus that's another rumour,"
"Then when do you believe we should go? Mr I know everything about the one thing nobody else knows about,"
"12! And that is an extremely long name!"
"IDIOT!"
