(A/N: This is a rewrite of an unpublished story I wrote called "Game Over")

It was pretty early in the morning when Liane was sitting behind her laptop. She was waiting to see whether she had won one of those vacation auctions for the sixth time that hour but if anything it was just disappointing since she kept losing to people who didn't live off student loans.

Then, out of nowhere, she got a notification from one of the other sites she had signed up on and put her bids on. She jumped out of her chair in excitement when she learned she had won a nice vacation to Arizona which wasn't particularly far or to another lovely country in Europe but it was something she could pay with the money she did have. She looked down at her bags, which she had already packed beforehand for no reason other than so she could be ready the same day she was doing this or well if she wanted to. In any case, she was prepared and ready.

After looking at her luggage for a second, she starts dashing down the stairs quite clumsily to tell her roommates about what happened. Finally getting downstairs after almost killing herself by accident with how stupid she could be at times, she makes it to the living room where her roommates are doing their own thing.

Will, the oldest of the three, was watching a playthrough on the TV by some popular streamer she didn't know, and Melanie, the second oldest by 10 minutes, was in the kitchen setting coffee for herself Melanie turned around to look at Liane, who was smiling like an idiot at them before speaking:

"Guess who finally won one of those bids on the auction sites!" she said proudly of herself.

Will who had leaned into his arm with was on the armrest turned his head to Liane mischievously. "Finally won after almost a whole night of doing nothing but sitting behind your laptop drinking Red Bull?" he smirked while Liane gave him a death glare.

Then they both hear a sigh from the kitchen, making them both turn their heads toward Melanie like lost puppies. "Oh, don't be so mean to her, Will. I am glad you won Lia! Any ideas of when you're leaving?" She asked questioningly.

"I was planning on in some hours! enough time to both get ready and double-check if I have all that I need on the way there." Liane said seriously.

"Do you want me to make you some food for the way there? Or are you planning on eating somewhere there?" Melanie asked again.

"I wouldn't want to make you work when you finally get some peace from me." Liane chuckled lightly even tho she knew Melanie was one of these days gonna sell her on the dark web with how annoying Liane herself can be, and she knew.

Melanie herself chuckled before saying: "Oh, don't worry about that! I wouldn't mind making something for you. Either way" she said while putting a hand on her chest."I'm gonna go to a party tonight with some of my friends."

"Sounds like fun! I hope you enjoy it!" Liane said. Will still look at the two talking. I finally spoke up.

"Well, if you two are done babbling, I'd suggest to Liane that you should start packing if you don't want to leave later than you should."

"Well, before I do, I have to ask what you're gonna do while I and Melanie are gone for the rest of the day or, well, mostly me?"

"I was probably gonna go play games all day considering my boss doesn't have me scheduled for 2 weeks, so I'm gonna enjoy myself! Gonna also invite my boyfriend over so we can chill." He says.

"Cool! Hope you two have fun! If anything goes wrong or you need something, call me on my private number. This counts for you, Liane." Melanie tells us like the two kids we are probably to her.

When the conversation died down, Liane finally makes her way upstairs to check if she has everything she needs.

20 minutes later, Liane made her way downstairs now way more careful than before with all her luggage it wasn't much, but it still was quite heavy, and she didn't wanna risk breaking anything right before she was gonna leave. She made her way through the living room and out of the door where both Will and Melanie were waiting for her with the car already unlocked and the trunk open.

Putting her stuff in the trunk and shutting it she quickly realizes her bag that she left in her room that she would have right next to her since it contained the stuff she needed on the way there like her wallet, phone, and such. After grabbing it and putting it in the passenger front seat and closing the door, he looks back at her friends.

She walks to them and gives them a big hug since even tho she didn't show it as much, he was gonna miss the two of them.

Looking up at them, he smiles and then lets go of them before waving and entering the car.

Tears start forming in her eyes. She knew this wasn't gonna be the last time she was gonna see them but something about being without them longer than a day was gonna be a new experience for her and god was she ready for it.

Little did she know it was the last time she was gonna see them.
