(Y/n) knew it had to happen sometime, and it usually happened during the worst moment, but it had to happen anyway; one morning after waking up from a cramping sensation in her lower abdomen (Y/n) realized that she had gotten her period. She thankfully caught it in time and she only got blood on the crotch of her panties, but as soon as she made it to the bathroom she remembered that she didn't have any pads/tampons. By then she knew galra women didn't bleed every month which meant there were no period products, so she had to improvise by making a makeshift pad with the absorbent alien toilet paper; it was soft enough, thankfully, but she didn't know how well it would hold up or how long it would last. (Y/n) already knew what the bottle of liquid painkiller looked like in her medicine cabinet and thankfully Haggar already told her how much to take weeks ago when she first arrived, that way she at least wouldn't have to deal with as much pain. Her mood swings and intense cravings for sweet/salty/spicy foods, along with her other usual pms/pmdd symptoms should have been a warning, unfortunately she had almost completely ignored them.
After making a pad and taking the right amount of liquid painkiller (Y/n) decided to go back to bed, wincing with each step she took; galra aspirin worked better than the kinds that her old reality had, although it still took a while to take effect. She felt a little better once she laid curled up under the blankets on her bed, but she felt emotional and wished that she could cuddle with Sendak. In the meantime, everyone had gathered for breakfast in the dining room; (Y/n) hadn't joined them by the time the servants brought the food to the table, causing everyone present to wonder where she could be. Sendak was the most concerned out of all of them, worried that something happened to (Y/n) which prevented her from coming to breakfast. Sure, he'd noticed the change in (Y/n's) behavior and natural scent within the previous few days, and he wished that he knew more about human behavior and biology.
"Perhaps you should check on (Y/n) to see if she's alright." Zarkon suggested while talking to Sendak, prompting the furry male to go see if she was okay.
"I was thinking the same thing. I'll be back soon." Sendak replied as he stood up, promptly walking out of the dining room.
Everyone sitting at the table watched as Sendak rushed out of the dining room, hoping their human guest was okay. Lotor asked his father about (Y/n's) well-being, but unfortunately not even Zarkon knew the answer and assured his son that she hopefully would be. Sendak was the most worried out of all of them; (Y/n) was never late for a meal which obviously meant something wasn't right and she needed his help. As soon as he arrived at her bedroom he knocked on the door a couple of times, waiting for a response instead of just rudely barging in. When (Y/n) heard a knock on her bedroom door she gave whoever was knocking permission to come in, not at all surprised to see Sendak; she felt happy to see the man she was crushing on, and if she wasn't on her period she would have been excited.
"Are you feeling alright, (Y/n)? When you didn't come to breakfast we were all worr- Why do you smell like you're bleeding?!" Sendak began to say when he first entered her room and walked towards the bed; he thought she was only sleeping in until he smelled blood, immediately rushing to her bedside whilst fearing the worst.
"I'm fine, I just got my period. Please don't worry about me, I'll live." (Y/n) answered with a weak tone, peeking out from under the blanket so she could see him.
"You're on your what? And what does that have to do with the blood scent I smell coming from you?" Sendak asked her in confusion, not quite understanding why she was acting strange and smelled like blood; he was silently panicking, but he decided to listen to her explanation before reacting.
(Y/n) blushed at the thought of telling Sendak about her period and why she had it but she did so anyway, starting with the basics in hopes of not having to explain it in detail. Unfortunately luck wasn't on her side and she had to go into detail about why she was bleeding and how long it would last, feeling incredibly embarrassed from some of Sendak's questions. Sendak was horrified after (Y/n) told him what human women had to go through every month when their bodies matured and they didn't get pregnant; he was astounded that human women could bleed from their uterus for about a week and not die. He felt a little sick as he let the new information set in, hardly able to believe what his crush had to experience every month until she was old. After (Y/n) finished explaining everything she waited for Sendak's response, hoping he wouldn't panic given the horrified expression on his face.
