Multiple POVs
Callie's POV
Okay so pregnancy hormones are real...very, very real. Throw in being surrounded by fourteen sexy as fuck men who tend to run around half naked - well fully naked when it comes to Raven and Luke - most of the time, and let's just say I'm amazed I can still walk. They test my limits even as a vampire.
However, every time Victor and I try to have some alone time, something always comes up. Today it's a visit from Ériu and Elatha. They're bringing Cailleach to try and figure out exactly who or what I am.
I popped my head into his office. "Hey, can I ask a favor?"
His fiery eyes met mine and he smiled, "Of course."
He held his hand out to me as I came and nestled into his lap. He always smelled so intoxicating. I nuzzled into his neck, took a deep breath then asked, "Will you come to talk with Cailleach with me? You seem to know more than anyone about my past, and well, I would feel better if you were there."
His hand ran down my back making me wriggle in his lap. "We all plan to be there, my light."
"Um, yes, but..." I stammered.
"Perhaps you mean can I be with you like this," he purred in my ear as he pulled me tight against him. I gave a soft moan as his warmth and smell enveloped me. He nuzzled my neck, his eyes flashing as Aiden pushed forward. "We will keep you safe, little light." I ran my hand across his jawline as I leaned in and kissed him. My fingers tugged at his hair and he gave a low growl, "Soon," as he pressed his fingers into my hips, sending waves of desire through me. I shivered at his promise.
"Sorry to interrupt," Luke said from the door, "but they're here."
I started to stand, but Victor stood instead cradling me in his arms. "I think I'll keep you close, my light," he said, placing a soft kiss on my lips. "I need to feel you." I leaned my head against his shoulder, needing him as well.
I felt strange the closer we came to the dining room, like a nagging in the back of my mind that I just couldn't place. I could hear voices talking and quickly recognized Ériu and Elatha. Then I heard a voice that seemed to pierce through my memories. My body began to shake and I remember hearing Victor's voice, but it sounded so far away. My eyes fell on the old woman.
"You!" I gasped, then darkness and screams swept me away.
Victor's POV
I could feel her apprehension as we neared the dining room. Suddenly her body began shaking and her eyes seemed glazed. I kept calling her name, but she didn't seem to hear me. She mouthed something, then her body went limp in my arms as my mind filled with voices and screams.
"Sean!" I roared. I felt myself buckle to the floor as I cradled her. The screams in my mind getting louder. The old woman came closer and reached out toward me. I flinched backward, landing on my ass. "Don't touch us," I growled at her.
Unimpressed by my threat, she made a tutting sound and hissed, "Be still companion. Let me quiet the voices." Before I could ask what she meant, her hand touched the top of my head and the noise faded, but didn't disappear completely. She snorted, "It looks like she's collected all of you."
"What do you mean," I snarled.
"You have all been in her life before. I've seen each of you at one point or another in her past. I've just never seen you all at once. It's very odd, very odd indeed," she mused.
"Cailleach, you're speaking in riddles again. Please explain and explain what is wrong with Callie," Ériu asked.
The goddess looked down at the unconscious woman in my arms and smiled, "I'll go to her in a few moments, but first I need to know who the fathers are."
