Kieran's POV (North's wolf)

The three of us continued to lay in each other's arms, speaking out loud occasionally to keep whoever was watching from realizing the deep bond we had just formed. I could feel North just below the surface, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't let him come forward and it was worrying me. Was this their plan all along - to trap us like this? Did they want us to be feral, to harm her? Callie had drifted off to sleep at some point, while Sergi and I continued to touch her. She really was addictive - her touch, her scent, everything. When she shifted in her sleep and brushed her ass against my crotch, I felt myself becoming aroused again. Burying my nose in her neck, I unintentionally let out a low growl.

A new presence in the room had me freezing in my actions instantly. The air filled with a sense of danger. Protect her - Sergi growled in my mind. Our eyes looked up to see a large demon coming toward us. He was hunched to avoid hitting the ceiling - he must have been at least eight feet tall. I started scanning his body, trying to find any possible weakness. The thing waved his hand and a fine red mist covered the room, muting all sound. I tried to speak and found myself unable to.

Be silent, wolf. I come on behalf of my mate - he motioned to Callie - she serves her. Her journey is just beginning. Do not lose heart at what is to come next.

Did he mean her assistant? I exchanged a look with Sergi. What do you mean, her journey, and why would we lose heart? What is going to happen to her? I demanded.

She must take the next steps. She will know when the time arrives.

Расскажи нам! Stop being so fucking mysterious - Sergi cursed, What is the point of a warning we cannot understand.

The demon gave a pained expression. You are not meant to understand yet. Your journey is just beginning as well. Do not fear the fire.

With that, he and the red mist vanished as the door slammed open and Sang came walking in behind Lisette and the man who drugged us earlier. "Bien, you're awake," Lisette beamed, "and it looks like she's been bien baisé (well fucked)." She moved to touch Callie when Sergi growled. "Do be still," she snapped.

A small hooded figure appeared next to her and muttered something, "Dois-je lever le sort, Maîtresse? (Shall I release the spell, Mistress?)"

"Non, gardez-les ainsi. Il sera plus facile de les transporter. (No, keep them this way. It will be easier to transport them,)" Lisette replied. I wished Gabe were here to translate. I'm sure whatever she said wasn't in our favor. The look in her eyes was sheer madness. My gaze traveled to Sang. Her eyes roamed up and down my naked body hungrily. Lisette patted her cheek, "You can play with him later, pet. For now, we need to get ready to depart."

The hooded figure waved her hand and I felt as if my body were frozen in place. Callie gasped as the man pulled her to her feet and threw a hospital-style gown over her head. For a moment she seemed to stare into space, then she focused on us. It will be okay - she said quietly, I love you both, please remember that. It felt far too much like a goodbye, and I tried to struggle against whatever spell held us in place.

We will find you, little warrior, Sergi promised as we watched the man lead her from the room, followed by Lisette and the figure.

I cringed inside as Sang's fingertips grazed over my torso. "It's been so long," she whimpered. "Soon, I'll be able to control your shifts and you can be my pet. How does that sound, North, or should I say, Kieran?" My eyes flickered as my body remained frozen. "I think I prefer Kieran. Maybe Mistress will let me release North. That way you really will be my pet forever." She leaned down and pressed her mouth to my unmoving lips. She was completely insane. If I'd had any doubts before, they were gone now.
