FIVES - 'JESSE'S GIRL'

FIVES' POV

It was another quiet (if that's what you can call it) evening in the 501st barrack based on Coruscant. We have been on leave for 2 weeks, and to celebrate our last evening before getting back to work, some of the lads invited me to go hang out at 79's with them.

Me being me, the 'class clown, party animal' of the 501st, would have been ecstatic to come along and just party the night away, but key word 'would'.

I heard a knock on my door, and I got up to answer it, being greeted with Jesse's face.
"Hey Fives, I was wondering if you wanted to come down 79's tonight with us, most of us are gonna be there, and Y/N will be too" a blush spreading to his face as he mentioned his girlfriend, and I did my best to keep my cool.
"Oh yeah sure of course I'll go" smiling to my brother.

In the inside my heart shattered. I've had enough of seeing Y/N all lovey dovey with Jesse. Yeah, Jesse was my brother, my best friend, but I have loved Y/N ever since we met her at 79's that one night. Some guys had made her feel uncomfortable, and wanted to move tables so she asked to sit with us, of course we let her, and we've all been close with her since.

As we entered the bar, Jesse, Hardcase, Echo and Dogma went to find the booth where Y/N was waiting for us, but I went up to grab our usuals.
I went and sat with the rest of the group, handing them their drinks, and I stared hopelessly as Y/N watched Jesse in adoration with beautiful E/C eyes as I sat across from them.

I excused myself as I headed towards the toilets, and I just stood with my hands either side of one of the sinks just staring at the mirror. Although all clones were made to look the same, me and Jesse definitely had our differences.

I made my way back to bar, needing another drink.
"Staring at her won't help" The bartender, Lissy snapped me out of my thoughts as she poured my second pint of the evening.
"Eh well it's all I can do" I sighed. I looked into my drink, taking a sip then swirling it around.
"You sure about that?" She spoke, nodding towards their direction. I looked over to see Y/N looking as if she was shouting at Jesse, and slapped him across the face. Hardcase and Dogma sat there laughing, Echo just face palmed.

Y/N walked over to bar and stood next to me, a cold expression on her face.
"Are you okay? I saw like half of what happened" I asked her.
"I'm fine" she sighed asLissy started making a cocktail and sliding it her way.
"Just Jesse thinking he can be an absolute dick and staring at some twi'lek" She groaned.
"You're way prettier than any twi'lek mesh'la" The words slipped out of my mouth. She stared up at me and smiled.
"Thank you" she muttered, "you've always been there for me, just thank you for everything" I couldn't quite hear her over the loud music, but I caught it.

I easily got lost in her eyes, they were truly mesmerising. She stared into mine, too, and before we knew it we both started leaning in, my hand found itself tangled in her hair as electricity flowed through me.
"Can I?" I whispered.
"Just kiss me already" she muttered back, and she didn't need to tell me twice. Our lips locked, and I'm not sure whether its from the cocktails she had been drinking, but her lips tasted like the sweetest thing ever.

As we pulled apart, we caught our breath, just smiling at each other. A new, much slower song started playing in the background.
"Care to dance?" I asked, smirking down at her.
"Of course" she spoke softly.
I took her hand in mine, making our way into the dance floor, our bodies swaying slowly to the music.

"When do you leave?" She asked, quirking an eyebrow.
"Tomorrow" I huffed.
"Promise you'll stay safe for me?" She asked, her eyes full of worry"When you get back I'll be here waiting for you"
"I'll do my best, for you ner mesh'la cyar'ika" I smiled. Our lips locked again, and all I knew is I didn't want this night to end. I had Jesse's girl, but she wasn't Jesse's girl anymore. She was my girl.
