Beep beep! Beep beep! The alarm blared in the pudgy boy's desk and he smacked it off, groaning. He was already exhausted and it was only the second day of school! That party really made everyone wasted and he knew what to expect when he walked into his high school today. Tolkien admitted that he would've thrown it tomorrow, on Friday, but that was when his parents were coming back from their vacation.

Walking in the snow, the sunlight shined on the boy's face as he shivered slightly. He was the first of his friend's to get to the bus stop and he was surprised, as he usually sees at least Kyle there before him.

In the corner of his eye, he saw his friend's orange parka and felt a little nervous. Usually, Kenny was the last to get to the bus stop because he always helps his sister in the morning and usually, especially on the SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL, Kyle had phenomenal attendance. "Where's Kyle and Stan?" Kenny mumbled, confused. Eric shrugged.

The two ended up to get in their home room class the whole way through without Stan and Kyle. It was a very weird day and Cartman thought the drinks from last night made him a little delusional, even though he didn't even have a lot.

In the middle of Mr. Garyson's math lesson, he was interrupted by Ms. Victoria on the intercom, "Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick, please make your way to the principal's office." The two boy's were kind of stunned. Was he hung over?

At the principal's office

In the office, the two friends were met with Ms. Victoria and Mr. Mackey, their guidance counselor. "What's going on?" The fat kid asked, befuddled. "This may be a little hard at first, but your friend Stan Marsh died this morning, mkay?" Said Mr. Mackey.

Earlier

Kyle sat in the waiting room, impatiently playing with his hands. A curl fell into his face but he didn't care. His heart was pounding rapidly and he was choking back tears when a doctor entered the room the boy was waiting in. He quickly jumped to his feet and ran over to the doctor impatiently. "Kyle Broflovski?"

When Kyle got into his friend's room, Stan looked horrible! His eyes were barely open and he had been attached to an IV cord. The blood dripped slowly and Kyle felt uneasy. His friend had gashes and bandages all over him from what he could see outside of the hospital blanket.

Kyle quickly ran to his friend, pushing the nurse to the side as she shut the door behind her. As soon as Kyle got to Stan, he burst into uncontrollable tears and threw his face into the blanket covering Stan's torso. He cried and cried and gripped the bedding so hard that his fists had turned white. He grabbed the boy's soft cheeks and sobbed. "Why Stan? WHY!!!" He choked out, voice breaking. He rest his forehead on the tampered boy's and gave him a small peck on the lips. He didn't taste like alcohol. He didn't taste like peppermint toothpaste. He didn't even taste of beef jerky, his favorite snack. He tasted different. He smelled different. He looked horrible.

Kyle's moment of mourn was interrupted when the door open slowly. He whipped around to see Sharon, well he was still gripping onto his friend. "Kyle? Oh gosh, how is he? My poor baby! I wish I could've cared a little more!!" She sobbed, hysterically running over to her baby boy. She threw herself onto the sheets and grabbed her son's face. She kissed his cheek and cried and cried and cried like there was no tomorrow. The scene was so heartbreaking, Kyle headed for the door with a soft sob.

He waited outside till Sharon was done mourning over her son. Stan had seemed to be in a coma and the doctors still didn't know when he would wake up, but he was in pretty bad shape.

In the corner of his eye, he saw his friends run over to him, Kenny giving Kyle a tight squeeze. Kyle started crying again into Kenny's parka, who smelled of cigarettes and juicy fruit gum. Cartman sat down next to them quietly, shocked at what had happened for a second before taking his phone out and opening social media, jacking an EarPod into his ear. Kyle rolled his eyes. Couldn't he at least have some respect? Just a little? What the fuck?

A lot of time had passed and the boy's had all fallen asleep on each other in the hallway. When Sharon came out, sniffling, Cartman had woken immediately, carefully shifting from the two boys and retreating to Stan's room.

"Damn dude.." he mumbled softly when he saw the fragile boy's condition. He went up and sat down next to his friend. The monitor beeped annoyingly into Cartman's ear. It was past school time he noticed, as Kenny walked into the room. He peeked out the door and saw Kyle sleeping on the bench in the hallway with a hospital blanket on him, curled up with his mouth open. When Kenny noticed, he smiled at Cartman and walked towards him.

"Damn" Kenny said, his soft whisper breaking. Cartman looked at him and then placed a hand on Stan's bed. "What even happened?" The tall boy in the parka mumbled. "Don't know, man. But it must've been bad." Kenny nodded and pulled a chair over next to his friends.

They both wondered in private how hard this must've been for Kyle. Cartman thought they were in love. Kenny thought they were the closest friends he had ever seen. They were always together and they even saw each other outside of the group at least once a week. They were super close and the thoughts just filled the room with sorrow.

The door creaked open and an familiar shadow stood in the frame.
