~To The Story~

You were having the same dream.

Asahi was wandering around, appearing to be frantically looking for something. His eyes darted everywhere, searching, but also being cautious.

Your existence became known to him the second you took a step forward, intending to see what was wrong. Asahi whipped his head in your direction. Wasting no time, he rushed over to you and grabbed your hand. He tugged you forward, but you stayed put.

Only because you were confused. You opened your mouth, trying to say something, but no words came out. You couldn't speak. And it seemed as though Asahi couldn't speak either. But that didn't stop him from babbling whatever he was on about. It was like the two of you were trapped underwater.

Despite Asahi's lack of vocal communication, you can somehow decipher what he's saying by judging the look in his brown eyes.

"Let's go."

"You're not safe."

"Hurry."

A cold shiver ran down your spine.

Then, the dream ended.

Asahi vanished, as well as the unknown surroundings. You gasped as your eyes flew open. The ceiling of your room greeted you.

For just a second, you panicked, thinking you were still trapped in your dream, but then you looked at your alarm clock on your bedside table to see that you were actually awake. And not trapped in some weird nightmare.

However, the image of Asahi was clear as day in your head. The desperation and fear in his eyes disturb you.

A soft sigh left your lips as you sat up, scratching your messy bedhead.

Seriously, what is up with these dreams?

You did question it for the past first couple of nights but were able to brush it off as nothing since strange dreams do happen. Now, however, you were getting a bit concerned. As much as you don't want to, a part of you was starting to think something superstitious was happening to you. Dreams are hard to explain, and you've certainly had strange dreams in the past. But never at this level.

Okay, back up for a minute, superstitious aside, maybe your brain was trying to tell you something. Well, you can't be stressed. It's summer vacation, and you managed to pass your first semester with excellent grades. It's not money you're worried about since it's technically your parents who are the ones paying the rent for your apartment. They thought having a part-time job would distract you from your studies. And there is no way your mother would want you living in some crummy apartment from the money you make from those jobs.

Not money... then what is it? Why are you dreaming of Asahi in the first place?

It was a dream, yes, so you shouldn't be thinking too deeply about this, but it was clearly taken an effect on you. Like, you're pretty sure it's not normal to keep having these unsettling dreams about a boy you dated in middle school.

It could... be that you feel guilty. When you think about it, the notion does make more sense than the others. You even admitted to your mother that you wished you were nicer to Asahi when he was alive. Was he crying because of how you treated him.

You frowned.

No. It looked like he was crying because he was scared of... something. What was that something? You weren't sure.

"Ugh..." You groaned and rubbed your forehead.

It's too early for all this.

You got out of bed, determined to forget about the look on Asahi's face.
