Happy belated birthday Karma :)
Every year I try to update at least one of my Karma x reader stories on Karma's birthday, but each year, I fail cuz I'm super busy around the holidays. But I'm glad I was able to update one story before the year ended :)
~To The Story~
Your summer wasn't off to the best start. Tonight, you were supposed to be going to the summer festival with your friends, but instead, you're spending your evening in your house, trapped in your room. All alone, no less.
You could be eating a candy apple right now, but instead, you're wasting the night by brushing your hair. Not like there was much else to do around here while being grounded. You weren't allowed to watch t.v, your laptop was taken away and you weren't allowed to leave the house until the week was over.
You did have your phone. Some might say that didn't sound so bad, but all your phone does is call or text people. That's right, your phone isn't exactly a new model. It's not as if your parents can't afford it. They just don't see the point of giving you a more expensive phone.
Still, that didn't mean you didn't use your phone at all.
You still had friends you chat with to subdue the boredom.
From your bed, you heard your phone buzz, and you were about to get up, your mother entered your room without knocking.
"(Y/n)." Your mother huffs tiredly, carrying a basket of your clothes. "Why didn't you pick up your clean clothes when I asked you to?"
"Sorry," you muttered, not even looking at her. Wanting to keep up the act that you're busy, you decided to keep brushing your hair, maintaining your eyes focused on your vanity.
Your mother trembles a bit with annoyance, but instead of lashing out, she releases her irritation through a sigh.
"I understand you're upset about missing the festival," she says, keeping her tone even. "But a lesson was called for. You can't just run off like that and ignore my messages and your father's."
'Aren't you the one who let me walk out that front door?' You thought bitterly.
If you were to say that, another fight would ignite. You don't want that. You're too exhausted for that and too upset with her. All you want is for her to leave you alone.
"I know, mom," was all you said to her. You sounded cold and distant.
You hear your mother sigh with a bit of annoyance, but not as much as you thought, considering she would always get mad when you don't look her in the eyes when you're speaking to her.
Your mother stands there for a few extra seconds before you hear her leave the room. You glanced over your shoulder, making sure she was completely gone before getting up to get your phone.
You thought it would be one of your friends saying how much they miss you, but no, it was someone else.

Hey, are you asleep?
[You]

Why?
[Red]
