Teyvat was divided into seven kingdoms, each one ruled by a different leader. You lived in the Kingdom of Mondstadt, which was considered the kingdom of freedom. You found this to be quite a pathetic sentiment. Freedom?! more like neglectful, you thought. The Queen was the ruler of Mondstadt, though no one had seen her in the past 15 years. Queen Alice.. she was considered to be kind and free-spirited, though you saw her as nothing but an immature and unfitting royal who had fled from her responsibilities as Queen, just like the pathetic Anemo archon.
After leaving her people behind, Queen Alice left them in her children's hands. Well, that is what the people of Mondstadt like to say, although in your opinion, you know the kingdom is in the hands of no one. The youngest heir, Princess Klee, is around six years old. Not exactly ideal to run a kingdom.
As for the oldest, and the only other heir, Prince Albedo, he had another problem. Although he had finally come of age to become the new king, an old Mondstadt law stated that he must marry before he could take the throne. His mother had tried quite hard to get around this, but in the end, it seemed that he had no choice but to find a suitable partner.
For now, the kingdom was being run by the unofficial leader, Prince Albedo. Even though it seemed as though he was trying his best to keep his kingdom in one piece, his lack of authority was quite evident. After all, he was only 18, and without the official title of king, many of his subjects would not follow his orders.
That brings us to you. Your father was the leader of the revolution against Mondstadt's monarchy. Being raised as part of the revolution, you detested the entirety of the royal family. The insolence of the Queen had led to an increase in crime, Fatui involvement, and chaos. It wasn't too apparent now, but by not coronating an actual leader, Mondstadt's criminals were getting more and more comfortable with pushing the limits of Mondstadt's security.
Though, this could be counted as a positive for you. The revolution has been growing since the Queen left, and with no one attempting to stop you and your family, you have managed to recruit a terrifying number of people. 'Who knew that without a leader, the citizens of Mondstadt would go as far as to betray their precious Queen Alice?'
What surprised you most was when your father would hold a meeting to discuss plans, and you could see so many familiar faces around the table. You almost felt sorry for the "king". So many of these people were allegedly working closely with him, and supposedly they had his complete trust. One of these people was Kaeya Alberich, the apparently loyal cavalry captain.
He was one of the revolution's most powerful assets, as he frequently attended the Prince's meetings. Countless times he had warned your father of a planned attack on the revolution, ordered by the Prince. So far, every one of the Prince's plans to end the revolution was unsuccessful. Every time, someone would betray him to your father.
As you thought about all this, looking down at your nails, one of the servants knocked on your door. "My lady? Are you awake?" it was Marjorie, the only one of your servants that you truly trusted. She was like a sister to you, and you preferred if she would just address you by your name. Your father, being completely unfamiliar with any form of emotional attachment, demanded that she address you as 'My Lady'. You often found his behaviour to be intrusive and annoying.
"Yes Marjorie? Come in!"
She opened your door and curtsied as she spoke to you "My lady.. your father requests a meeting with you immediately."
You could tell from the anxious look in her eyes that he was probably having another one of his rage fits. Great. What a lovely way to start this morning.
"Okay Marjorie, thank you for letting me know.. and you don't have to call me 'my lady' when fathers not around..". you smiled at her warmly while getting out of your bed.
"Alright then.. Y/N". She curtsied once more before smiling at you and walking out of your room, leaving you to get ready.
'What does the old man want at this hour?!' You brushed your hair, and scrambled to find your clothes. If he was really in another one of his moods, it would be best to not keep him waiting. Your father could act like quite the savage when he was truly angry.
