Hold onto your seats guys, it's about to get real
Honestly, if someone had walked into the room at this point, they would think they were at a funeral. Half of the prince's ministers had gone outside to smoke, as they had gone off after a heated debate. The prince had his head in his hands, while Jean patted his back comfortingly. The First Commander, Diluc, was staring at the space in front of him in disbelief. First Outrider Amber was sitting back in her chair tiredly.
The group of councillors had learned of something.
"I should have known.. my own brother... I can't believe it," he sighed, exasperated.
"It's ok, Master Diluc.. you had no way of knowing.." The Outrider tried her best to comfort him.
The whole group had just learned of Kaeya's betrayal. A servant had mistakenly given one of Kaeya's letters to the king, instead of delivering it to the address that was written on the letter. Meaning, the king had just read a very accurate account of the conversation he had with Kaeya the day before. And at the bottom of the letter, it read 'I will meet with you at the revolutions HQ shortly. I feel as though the foolish prince has started to lose faith in me'.
"Listen everyone," Jean cried out, taking charge and gaining everyone's attention "This may be an unfortunate setback, but we can use this to our advantage!".
Amber raised an eyebrow, "Really? How so?".
Albedo suddenly shot up from his depression bubble. "That's right! We have a rat now!" he wore a slightly excited expression on his face, "We can feed false information into the revolution HQ by using Kaeya!".
This outburst was met by nods and murmurs of approval from around the table.
"But that doesn't solve the problem of your inevitable marriage, My Prince," Diluc stated, "We've spent half the meeting trying to come up with a way around this predicament."
After Albedo had seen the way the faces around the table fell after Diluc had made his statement, Albedo knew he couldn't take it anymore. Enough was enough. He had to put away his own ridiculous desires for the sake of the kingdom. He couldn't handle the way Klee's face had teared up after she had over hear him discussing the revolution with Kaeya. Kaeya, that backstabbing liar. He couldn't handle anymore betrayals. He couldn't handle seeing Jean's face when she had told him she couldn't control the knights anymore. That was the final straw.
"I have decided," Albedo announced, "I am to be married before the end of this week." He had a regretful look on his face.
"My prince, are you sure?" Jean looked surprise by his sudden change of heart. She was worried for her brother figure. Diluc on the other hand, looked quite happy.
"THANK THE ARCHONS. It took sooooooo long for you to agree!" He sighed. Amber and Jean both shot him a glare.
"No, he's right. I should have agreed from the start." Albedo sighed warily. "But. I do want to pick an untraditional way of deciding on who to marry. Any ideas?".
"OH OH I KNOW" Amber called out excitedly," May I tell you a story?".
Albedo looked confused, but he nodded in agreement.
Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a very prosperous nation. Monsters and humans lived together in piece, all under the reign of the archon of that land. Everyone was happy and everyone lived freely. Until one day, a great dragon attacked the land. This dragon belonged to the archon. The dragon represented the archons anger toward the people of his land. They often stole, killed, and hurt each other just for the sake of wreaking havoc upon the land. The archon got angry, and stripped the land of his blessings. He only left for them a throne, hidden deep in a cave. After the archon had left, the land had broken out in civil war. Until one day, a woman came across this throne, and when she touched it, a diamond shaped mark appeared on her neck. The throne had excepted her as the rightful leader of the land. But many wanted this power from themselves and tried to steal this throne. One day a man got close enough to touch the throne, but he didn't expect what happened next... the man's bones were crushed into powder by the curse that was placed on the throne. But the throne had another secret. It-
Suddenly Amber stopped. "And that's were it ends right? Everyone in Mondstadt knows that the royal tale is unfinished. But I feel that maybe our prince here has taken a couple of pages out of the book.." Amber gave Albedo a sly look, waiting for an answer.
"THAT'S IT!! Amber! You're a genius" Albedo suddenly stood up from his throne, "Here's what we are gonna do...."

The next day, the streets of the town were bustling with excitement and chatter. "Did you hear about the competition the prince is hosting to choose his bride?"
"Competition? Bride? TELL ME MORE"
"The rules are simple: The father or brother of every girl wanting to marry the Prince must go to the arena after tomorrow, and he will spar the prince in an attempt to lay his sword on the throne. But Remember, If you touch the of the throne, you will break your backbone!"
"Come on, that's just a fairy tale. It cant be cursed.."
"Who cares?! we get to watch all the fights for free!!!"

Back at the revolution's headquarters, Y/n's father had a smile on his face. The prince had been a huge help to the revolution by putting the throne in such a public space. This would be easy.
