June stood shaking beside Sarah,  her eyes wide as she looked at Singh who was holding a gun up to them. John B had put the flare down, June terrified that she was standing vulnerable in front of the man who wanted to kill her.

"Looks like you're carrying a load there, young Routledge. You want to tell me about it?" John B kept silent as Singh asked the  question, June trying not to fidget as she held her breath.  Singh was getting physically angrier, she could tell by the look of his face, the man leaning a little bit closer and asking again. "What is in the bag? Show me what's in the bag." He moved the gun to Sarah and June closed her eyes, not able to watch as he threatened her.  She knew he would crack, John B quickly reaching for the bag and taking it off of his back.

"Okay, okay, okay. Okay...keep it right here." Singh kept the gun in Sarah, June reopening her eyes as she heard the bags contents move. "Look. You want it? There you go."

Singh kept his eyes on John B and reached into the bag, June watching him with wide eyes as he pulled a chunk of gold out. She could practically see the wonder on his face, the decision making behind his eyes as he realized it was real.

"So, you found El Dorado at last. I know I was right to keep you alive,  you know. But unfortunately for your son, the celebration will be short lived. You have three seconds to come out before I start firing." Singh cocked the gun, pointing it at John B and making June breathe out heavily.

"One." Junes breath shuddered as she realized the joy of succeeding was always short lived, and she was staring her death in the face. Big John could be dead by now, due to the wound she had seen on him, or he could just not care...waiting around till Singh exacted his plans of killing to reap the gold himself.

"Two."

"I'm right here Singh." Big John appeared out of the shadows, Singh immediately turning the gun on him. "You kill us, I'll make sure this thing blows sky high." In his hand was a stick of dynamite, Junes eyes becoming even wider if possible at the sight of the already burning fuse. "That roof won't hold. And you'll never see El Dorado. Drop your gun. Drop the gun!"

Singh turned the gun back to John B, pressing it into his chest and making a whimper fall from Junes mouth, her lips trembling as Big John quickly spoke.

"No! My son dies, we all die." June realized again that she was not going to make it out of this, that dark feeling  settling in her body as she came to terms with the fact that if Singh killed John B she would die, and if Singh killed Big John she would also die.

"You see, the problem is...I don't believe you John. I don't believe that you would blow up your opportunity to see El Dorado, even to save your own son, and even your own son knows that, you know. You've proven it time and time again John, you know that. This John, is the great quest." June closed her eyes for a moment, trying to be completely in tune with her thoughts. Her heart was racing in her chest, beating faster than it ever had before as she considered all of her options, running, dying, fighting... She reopened her eyes and they fell on the gun that was pressed to John Bs chest,  her gaze trailing from the metal up Singhs arm, and suddenly she knew what she had to do. She knew she had to do something, because she didn't trust that Big John would do anything at all.

She couldn't hear anything but her breath as she looked to Big John, the man's eyes glued to Singh, and then shot forwards, pushing her entire body into Singhs. They both fell and she let out a yell as she wrestled him to the ground, knocking the gun from his hand and sparking the next few moments. Big John yelled something about John B and threw the dynamite, June suddenly able to hear again. She scrambled to grab the gun and managed to get it, trying to get away but she felt a hand grab her by the hair, pulling her back and into the water.
