Over the years of my life, I've seen many things happen before my eyes. Some are delighted ones, some are the ones that brings sorrow into your heart. But there's one that sticks,deep into the back of my mind. A moment that i wished time could rewind.
It was a beautiful day in the city of France. Watching couples in love walking down the street while holding hands as if they're on a runway. The fragrant smell of flowers from a nearby shop. Yet there's still no sight of him. We were supposed to meet half an hour ago. Just where is he?
Just then, I heard someone calling out my name. I glanced towards the direction of the voice. I smiled. It was him. I gestured him to cross the street and come over to me. And so he did.
He was crossing the street but the suddenly, out of nowhere, a car that was speeding over the speed limit crashed into him. Everything went on so fast. The street was flooding with blood. People came rushingly to the scene. Yet I was still stuck in my place,stunned. My legs gave out and I collapsed on the side of the street. Everything went black.
The memory played back in my mind like a tape even though it happened 30 years ago. He died in the accident and I continued on living,waiting for my death bed to arrive.
