CHAPTER 4-1: Mate Meeting

3rd PERSON POV

Nathaniel awoke around 5:00 in the morning he proceeded to do his workout routine in his home gym.
Around 6:00 he went out for a run and returned at 6:40 he then started to brew his coffee and heat the stove and cracked a few eggs after seasoning and letting them cook he placed them on the different plates putting 2 eggs on each plate. Nate then dropped 6 large sausages on the pan he sips his coffee while turning the food side to side after it was finished he then adds bacon to the sizzling pan while it was cooking he proceeded to make pancakes then heated another pan and dropped a piece of butter in one it melted he added the mixture in.

NATHANIEL’S POV
I just finish cooking everything I made two plates for Matthew and me Rafael already left after driving Matthews’s truck last night.
Each plate has 5 pancakes, 3 pieces of sausage and bacon plus 2 eggs with all this food might as well I didn’t exercise.
Did I go overboard on cooking? Yes but cooking is one of my favorite things to do.
I wish Caroline was here but I did not see her leave last night she texted me when I was asleep apologizing that she left without telling me she hopes we could go out at another time.
My best friend Sebastian was coming here to discuss my supposed mate.
His name was Kol Mikaelson the youngest male of the Mikaelson siblings.
Elijah was his older brother and so was Klaus all three of the siblings I felt drawn to
I don’t even know them that well yet hell I don’t even have a conversation with Klaus except in that magic eye-glowing staring contest hopefully Sebastian can tell me what this is about.
I hear footsteps coming closer to the kitchen well it seems like Matthew is awake.

MATT'S POV

I woke up around 7 in the morning and was greeted with an aroma of food
I slowly remember the things that happened last night.
Kol was slowly crushing my hand when Nathaniel arrived then Kol fell to the ground screaming.
Nate then grabbed my hand and dragged me down the stairs away from Kol.
I asked him what did he do but he only said “Now is not the time I’ll tell you but not here.” Maybe his a witch but if he is.
Is he with us or against us I hope he isn’t a bad guy
I make my way to the kitchen and saw Nathaniel raising his coffee to me.

NATHANIEL’S POV

I greeted Matthew by raising my coffee to him he nods back but I feel he is wary of me it hurt me that he thinks I will hurt him but I could blame him at the same time I need to reassure him.
Morning Matthew. I said with a smile. Please join me for breakfast.
He hesitated but sat down looking at the food on the table.
Coffee or juice? I asked
Coffee would be nice. He states I nod then proceeded to make him coffee.
So I guess you want to know what happened last night.
Yes… are you a witch? He asks and I give a chuckle
No, I’m not a witch nor a vampire and werewolf, not anything remotely supernatural.
So what are you?
I’m what’s called an extra sweetheart. I smirk at him as he has a confused face.
An extra? What’s an extra?
The term extra is derived from the word extraordinary and is used to identify us as normal humans and supernatural creatures. He looks even more confused
So are you human? He asks
Yes and no extras are still human just a more evolved version sub spices of humans if you will.
Our abilities are not supernatural however their origins are still unknown but witches around the world have confirmed our powers are not supernatural.
He look utterly lost but this isn’t the 1st first time I revealed the truth about my abilities.
That’s a lot to process right now. His face looks like I dropped the hardest math problem in existence.
I know it is but know this I am not here to hurt anyone I’m simply here because of Caroline.
He nods in agreement. So what can you do? I could tell his curios it’s written on his face.
Getting to the good parts are we sadly I can’t tell you not right now at least I hope you can understand that.
Ok, I understand also thank you for this meal, and last night you really should not have paid for the hospital bill.
Matthew why are you so insistent on me paying for the bill I was the one who brought you to the hospital even if you didn’t want to so it’s only fitting I pay for it.
Listen it’s not that I’m not thankful it’s just that the bill was high and I feel embarrassed that you paid for it. 
So you want to pay for the bill that I already paid?
No, I want to pay you for the bill but I don’t have the means to do so.
So you want us to get even? He stares down regretting he even brought the subject up.
I tell you what I know you’re in the ins and outs of the supernatural if you keep me up with what's going on and do not mention anything about my powers ill consider us even.
He looks hesitant but he agreed to do so we then had breakfast then he left saying he still had work so I gave him his keys and left.
I washed the dishes and then took a shower as I had paperwork to do for today uggghhhh I hate paperwork the con of having your own business is having paperwork to do and check it takes me over 2 weeks to finish making and checking all of it.
I was about to do my work in my home office when I decided to do it in the grill instead I wanted to get out for a while plus Sebastian told me he would meet me there I grab my laptop and two boxes of this month’s paperwork and car keys then drove off to the mystic grill.
I arrive at the grill then pick out a table and place my laptop and a few things then went back to my car for the boxes I then ordered coffee and a slice of chocolate cake it arrived after a couple of minutes I took a few bites from the cake and sips from the coffee then listened to some music via earphones I then became so focused on my work that I didn’t even realize it was already 1 in the afternoon.

KLAUS POV

I’m on my way to the grill as Kol dragged me to spend time with him I wanted to use this day to find my mate but seeing that he left with Rebekah’s human toy the grill will be the perfect place to find out more about him he isn’t human I knew this because last night when I looked at him and he returned the gaze my wolf eyes showed themselves as I realize he was my mate he looked offended then his beautiful blue glowed brightly with a blue light I move a few steps back shocked to what just happened but it also made me more curious to who and what my mate is I step inside the grill with Kol and sat next to the vampire hunter Alaric who was discussing that he might have been compelled I join they’re conversation and told them we had nothing to do with what happened just in case they blame it on us they somewhat agree to my statement I look over to Kol who has been staring at someone I look over to where he was gazing then I saw my mate. He was doing what I think is work through his laptop he was blasting music to his ears sometimes silently singing along to the song thanks to my vampire hearing I could hear his beautiful voice there were papers all over his desk along with a few boxes on the chairs he looked so lost on what he was doing it was adorable I look over to Kol who was staring at MY MATE I hit him in the back of his head which brought him back from daydreaming and he looks at me angrily and confused.

KOL POV

I was looking at Nathaniel then Niklaus hit me at the back of my head I look at back at him “What was that for?” who are you looking at? He asks
You could have asked properly that’s Nathaniel Frost he was at the ball last night. I started
I don’t recognize his name on the guest list the other night. Who was he with? My brother inquires
He was with your date I believe. He nods I don’t want you looking at him. Klaus says emotionless
Why the fuck would he say that Nathaniel is my mate he is mine, not even the hybrid himself could stop me.
Why would I do that brother? Because he is my mate Kol and if you look at him again I will burn your eyes out with a candle then drop you in a pool full of acid.

My eyes widen when Klaus says Nathaniel is his mate that’s not true because of his MINE.
I slam my closed fist to the bar table and then stare directly at Klaus my eyes turn black and black veins show
No brother Nathaniel is my mate MINE and ONLY MINE. He looks back at me confused but his hybrid eyes show themselves. Our stare-off was interrupted by a small moan.

NATHANIEL’S POV 

I realize I’ve been at work for more than 4 hours I remove my earphones and stretched a bit realized a small moan and hoped no one heard it I called the waiter and ordered chicken and spaghetti for lunch.
I Take out my phone and scroll through Instagram while waiting for my food when I felt like someone had their eyes on me I felt uncomfortable   so I temporarily poses a random customer and look around to who was looking at me my gaze fell to the bar where my supposed mate along with his brother Klaus
I let go of the person I recently possessed I set my phone down and look at them they smile at and I returned the gesture then they grab a few drinks and head over to where I am sitting then sat in the chairs opposite to me 

Hello, darling, we didn’t finish our conversation last night I’m a little hurt. Kol smirked at me his brother was not happy with the way he looked at me for some reason.
Well, you were trying to kill my friend so I suppose were even.
I would have killed him then suddenly I felt like thousands of heated needles were piercing my brain care to explain? He asks
No, I don’t think I will. I tease him his face changes to annoyed and takes a sip from his drink.
Now that would not be nice will it love? His THICK British accent revealed itself why am I lusting over my supposed mate’s brother god there’s something wrong with me.
I don’t think we’ve met yet Nathaniel Frost. I reach out to shake his hand but he kisses it instead I was shocked at the unexpected gesture but liked it at the same time.
I blushed and retrieved my hand only to find Kol with a death glare if this was a cartoon he have steam blowing out of his ears.
So what brings you to my table gentlemen?
Well, darling, as I said I am curious as to what happened last night and if you were a witch id get past that but you are not a witch, are you? I don’t sense any magic coming off so what exactly are you?
See I don’t know you well enough to reveal such grand information so it’s a no.

Well darling I have something that might change your mind. Kol snickers
And what that might be? I already knew what he meant
You my darling Nathaniel my mate. I already knew this but it still shocked me, to be honest
Then Kol’s smiling face was then replaced with one full of pain he kept his mouth shut swallowing his supposed scream I look at the table then saw that Klaus had stabbed Kol in the hand with a fork.

KLAUS POV
I just stabbed Kol with a fork for telling my mate that he was his
He was in pain but kept to himself as he did not want to draw any attention to us
My mate stared at Kol’s hand and then looked at me then everything went white and were at a different place.
