CHAPTER 2:SMALL REUNIONS

NATHANIEL’S POV

NATHANIEL Caroline screamed as she ran towards the door and opened it then jumped to me I caught her combining it with a hug she wrapped her legs around my torso to pull me closer we stay like that for a while before I gently put her down then she hugged me again before breaking the hug. When did you arrive here? She asks with visible joy. Just a few hours ago I’m staying at a house I own here.

Look at you mister royalty-owning houses she teases. Do you want to stay out here or do you want to come in? I nod as an answer then she drags me inside we talked for what felt like hours I looked at my watch then saw it was already noon.

Hey, care do you mind if we went shopping for food? My fridge is empty and I’m quite hungry ill treat you to lunch while at it.

Omg, I didn’t even realize sure I don’t mind just let me grab my stuff.

She went upstairs to grab a few things. So many things have changed about her now she’s a vampire.

I’m no stranger to the supernatural I’ve met my fair share of wolves witches and vampires in my life I looked inside Caroline’s head that’s why I’m sure she won’t hurt me she makes her way down the stairs then we go outside and she drives me to the grocery shop then we stop by the grill as I promised her lunch. We find a table then we sit down and talked for a while then the waiter comes in.

Hello, my name is matt may I take your order?

Now, now Matthew you don’t say you’ve forgotten about me I say giving a devilish smirk.

Wait… Nathaniel? The one and only darling. I get up from my seat and give him a hug he hugs me back while giving me a pat on the back. What is doing here haven’t seen you in for forever he says.

I’m visiting Caroline and will be staying here for a few weeks how about you didn’t know you worked here.

Yeah well, I needed the money and the grill was hiring so.

Well if you want you can send me your resume and I can find you a part-time job with a much bigger paycheck only if you want it though.

Really? He sounds unsure of what he just heard. Of course, I will Matthew you’re my friend, and besides my business hires working teenagers so that they can support themselves during their school years it also has benefits such as health care insurance.

Here I grab my wallet and take out a business card. Send it in the email there now as much as I love this reunion my very hungry. I said laughingly

Oh, I forgot. He grabs my business card and then proceeded to take our order.
We left the grill with me paying for our lunch and leaving Matthew a generous tip then drove to my house

When we arrived we saw a man standing outside with a bunch of boxes big and small.

We step out of the car and I greeted the man Rafael thank you for coming.

Of course, mister frost here is the stuff you requested and some of the stuff your assistant sent

Thank you so much. I open the door to my house I gestured to help him but he refused and said I should spend time with my lady friend. I agreed and gestured Caroline to come with me to my room and we talked about random things then we got to her love life.

So let me get this straight the man responsible for your boyfriend leaving also the same man who has a weird attraction towards you sent you an invitation to his family ball and also gave you a dress to wear?

Yes. She says with annoyance as I laugh. So how about you? She changes the subject.

Are any lovers on the rise?

No just seeing people here and there swinging both teams.

I knew it she exclaims I always knew you were fruity she laughs.

Speaking of which what about matt? What about him? I reply

You didn’t see how he was looking at you? I did it’s the face of people when they see how handsome I am.

She throws a pillow at my face for that. I’m serious he looked like he wanted to kiss you at that moment.

Well, darling he already did. I gave her a smirk as her eyes widen she was silent so I spoke for her.

Yes, Caroline me and matt kissed and it was when kids and I were his first kiss.

Well, that’s something you don’t learn every day.

We’ll have you decide if you’re going to the ball.

Wow changing the subject are now are we? I give a small chuckle and to answer your question no.

Why not? Because she takes a long pause it’ll be awkward and I’ll be alone.

Then she looks at me with a big smile as a devious plan forms in her mind.

Nathaniel, do you want me to come to the ball?

I don’t know care it’s up to you

Well, I’ve decided WE’RE going. What do you mean we? I ask her already knowing what it meant

You Nathaniel shall be my plus one. Fine, I give a defeated sigh as I knew she will drag me there.

But ONLY if you give your suitor a dance.

DEAL she said well I’ll be off so I can prepare and so you can get to your meeting it’s almost 4. I look at the time and it was 3:40 I needed to get ready. I asked Rafael to use my car and take Caroline home I attended the meeting took a bath after did some skincare fix my self-style my hair pick out accessories and the outfit I texted Caroline that I was going to pick her up she agreed to meet at 6:30. I finished preparing and proceeded to drive to Caroline’s house after picking her up we drove to the Mikaelson manor.
