On that same Monday morning.......

Beep! beep! beep!

Ugh.

Stupid alarm clock

I brought my hand down on the alarm clock, pushing snooze, but then rolled over in bed to see my mom standing in the doorway.

"Not today young man. Paul has been late too many times because of you, and I'm sure you don't want to walk three miles, now do you?"

"Fine. I'll get up. Happy?" I grumbled. I've been through worse, but I want to stay as far away from complications ass I can.

Whoa. Is it just me, or did I just sound like Annabeth

"Very. now go get ready, quick!"

I swung my legs over the side of my bed, pulled myself up, and trudged over to the bathroom. After brushing my teeth, I quickly hopped in the shower, threw on a shirt, and ran downstairs.

"Percy, WHERE ARE YOUR PANTS!!!" Mom screamed.
"Honestly," she said, rubbing her hands on her forehead, "You shouldn't have watched the Lego Movie last night."

"So you have an objection to me watching a movie, but you're perfectly fine with me going on a suicide mission to stop Evil Mother Nature from destroying us all." I smirked, walking back up the stairs.

"I didn't have a say in that!" I heard her call up to me as I ran in my room to slip some jeans on.

When I came back into the kitchen, mom looked like she was about to cry.
I walked over to her, wrapping my arms around her and she said in s tiny voice, "I thought you were....... and that I would never....... and Annabeth came over every day and cried with me.....and then you guys went on the Argo II........and then the voice message........and I hadn't seen you for almost a year, Percy a year! " She was crying into her hands now, and hugged me back when I squeezed her tighter.

I felt like the worst son in the world, seeing her break down like this.
"Mom, it's okay. I'm here with you now, aren't I? You've got Paul, too. Nothing will happen to me or any of us, for that matter. I promise"

Mom smiled up at me and rested her hand on my cheek. "You've changed so much, Percy. Changed for the better."

I quickly got out milk and cereal, and

"Percy! Are you ready?" Paul asked from the doorway as I finished my cocoa puffs.

"Coming."

At school
I walked down the hallway to my locker, Paul heading the other way. On the way I rolled my eyes at almost every single girl in the hallway. Except for Mis, of course.

Let me explain.

Mia, Sydney, Mason, Riley, and Owen. Mia is a demigod, a daughter of Hecate, therefore being the only one who believes in Annabeth.

"Hey Mia." I said quickly, hoping I would get to my locker in time. She nodded back, as if not having time to talk herself.

Unfortunately, while saying hi, Kendall Burrows, most popular girl in the school bumped into me.

Coincidence? I think not

"Percy, why are you talking to...... her? Come hang out with me instead. Well have lots of fun, you and me."

"Kendall, I wouldn't." Mia said coming up behind me, a smirk on her face.
Kendall has a grudge against pretty much any girl who can get closer to me than her, which means Mia.

" I'm just going to go to class. At least it's a Greek day." I said as I headed for my locker to grab my math books.

"Dude! Over here." Owen called over to me, waving his hand towards an empty seat next to him.
"Thanks."

Just then Mr. Kelley, our math teacher, walked in and set his bag down on his chair.

"All right ducks, get your homework from Friday out as........." Almost immediately, hands shot up to pass around homework. including mine.

" Percy and Kendall will come around with homework and class work, today we are going over integers."

Kendall had somehow gotten it into every teacher except Paul's head that we were the perfect couple.

Hand me a barf bag.

As we walked to the front of the room, Kendall stood so close to me I could literally feel her hip purposely touching me.

I move away,
She moves closer.

Math class, everybody.
History/social studies

Mrs. Griffis walked into the room and said, "For our group project of this month, you will be making a map of the world. The more detail, the better the grade. Groups can have up to four people, and no excluding anyone."

Annabeth would have us make a globe, with the mountain ranges poking out and everything.

Everyone immediately got up out of their seats, and I quickly walked over to Mason, Sydney, and Mia.

"Percy, I was wondering if you have any ideas for our group project." Kendall sneered, shoving Sydney off to the side.

"Hey!" She protested.

"I'm thinking it should be just the two of us, working alone together."

"Sorry, but I'm already in a group. You can just forget about partnering with me for the rest of your life."

"I will have you, Percy. And when I do, you'll never want to leave." Kendall declared, walking off to her "popular group"

I can't bother writing about the project. 😋😋
To the lunch room!!!!
Blech

Cafeteria food tastes horrible.

Mia's lucky. She packs a lunch every day except on Fridays.

"So... what's the plan for after school?"
Riley asked.

"I think we should go see Fast and Furious 7!" Owen replied, pumping his fist in the air.

Riley and Owen are dating, by the way.

Sydney and Mason, too.

Don't forget about me and Annabeth!

"If you're fast and furious at the same time, I think you'd get more car crashes than ever imaginable." Mason said.

When no one laughed, he said, "What? Was that not funny at all?"

"Why did the chicken cross the road?" He asked, and we all answered,
"To get to the other side, " putting an emphasis on side.

Everyone started cracking up at that.

"Why is that so funny?" Sydney asked, giggling like crazy.

"It's funny because the way Mason said it doesn't make any sense whatsoever." I replied.

"Just like anything he says." Riley said.

"Hey!" He cried.

"So, what do you guys want to do after school?" Mia asked.

"Maybe we could go to the pool?" I stated, hoping they wouldn't start bickering with me about how I always want to go to the pool.

What can I say? I'm one with the water.

"I guess we could go. I mean we haven't gone in a while." Sydney replied.

"Sounds good! To the pool we go." Mia stated.

"What time?" I asked.

"I'm good for around 3:00" Owen said.
We all agreed, and then the bell rang
