Olivia's POV:
I couldn't sleep. There was too much on my mind. I threw my sheets off me and headed to my balcony.
I saw Grayson swimming in the pool. I don't know how he was okay with swimming in the cold, but I'm guessing it's because the pool is heated. I decided to head down there to talk to him.
~~~~~~
"Do you normally go late night swimming Grayson?" I asked. My nightgown was very thin, and I was shivering.
"Yes, almost every night. Why do you ask?"
"Just wondering." I was getting very cold, and since the pool was warm, I decided to dip my feet in the water. I pulled up my nightgown and slipped my legs into the water. "Anything on your mind?" I asked. Grayson looked like he was deep in thought.
"Yeah, I've been thinking about the will reading. I just don't understand why my grandfather would leave all the money to your sister. No hate or anything." He paused. It looked like he was debating whether or not to keep talking. "I think there's another will," he began. It seemed like that'd be true. There's no way Tobias Hawthorne would have the same will his entire life.
"That does make sense. It does sound weird that your grandfather would give all his inheritance to someone he's never met before."
Grayson and I sat in silence for a bit, before he got up and began walking back into the house.
"Wait," I said. "I wanted to ask you something."
"Yes, Ms. Grambs?"
"What are you actually thinking about? I know that's not the only thing on your mind." His facial expression showed me that he wasn't actually thinking about the will. He seemed very upset, and I wanted to figure out why.
"There's nothing else, don't worry about it." Grayson grabbed his towel and began walking away. "You should go to bed, Olivia." There was no way I'm letting him go before he tells me what's actually wrong.
"Grayson, tell me what's wrong. There's obviously something-" Grayson cut me off. He grabbed my face and kissed me, hard. It was almost like he was hungry. I kissed him back, knowing he needed to get his mind off of whatever he was thinking about.
The kiss was like fire, his hands travelling all over my body, and he didn't want to let go. He pulled away from me, and looked me deep in my eyes.
"Oh shit. I shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry Olivia." Grayson grabbed his towel, and left me alone by the pool.
What? I thought. Did he regret it?
A/N:
Hey y'all. Sorry, this came out a little later than I expected. I hit a writer's block, and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for the next chapter. I should have it posted by the end of the week, at the latest.
Thanks for reading! I hope you're enjoying it so far! :)
