It was late at night. Both of them were drunk. They stumbled onto the rooftop and laughed at each other's non-funny jokes. They stopped and stared at each other. He held out his hand for her. She stared at it momentarily. A single moment felt like an entire lifetime for him. But then, she held his hand and that's when she felt safe. He pulled her to his chest, wrapped his other arm around her waist and started slow dancing. He twirled her around so fast that the world around her started spinning. She laughed. Again. He stared at her. Her face glowed from the moonlight. Her wet hair from the rain, her glowing eyes, her bright laugh. Everything in her seemed to be very precious to him. He kept staring at her hoping the moment would store in his brain forever. He wanted to be in that position every moment, every second of his life on that rooftop, below the rain, with her. Time seemed to stop when she was around. And then she stopped laughing. She smiled at him. A smile worth millions. She felt safe around him. She wanted him to spend his life with her. She wanted him to be her other half. She blushed hard when she realised he was staring at her. She hid her face in his chest feeling all the zoo animals dancing in her stomach. They kept on slow dancing below the rain. She then whispered in his ear, you make me want to live. He felt accomplished. He felt happy for the first time in years. He kissed her forehead and whispered, you are my home. She felt something she hadn't felt for a long time. She felt loved. She felt tears well up in her eye when she asked the question bothering her for a long time. She asked, what are we? He answered we are each others'. Forever? she questioned. Forever and ever and always was his answer. She kissed him. She kissed him on the rooftop, below the rain, whilst they were slow dancing. Both of them felt completed the moment their lips touched. It was as if a puzzle was finally completed. They felt euphoric. And that's when they realised, they'd fallen for each other
