{3rd person pov}

Sam's therapist was just relaxing on the couch enjoying a nice bowl off soup whilst watching a movie. he was happy to finally be able to relax after a long day of work especially with Sam's session last night. His fun was cut short however when he heard a knock on his front door.
He stood up and started slowly walking towards the door. As he entered the hall the sentence: "You're next", kept playing via the speakers.

"Who is it?", he asked nearing the door only seeing a tall dark shadow in the window. However no response was heard from the mysterious figure. As he got closer and closer to the door he could make it out to be someone in what looked to be a costume of some kind so he called out: "You're a day early for halloween", placing his head only inches from the glass to try and see who it was once more.

The figure helped the therapist out by stepping closer only revealing it to be Ghostface. Before the therapist even had time to react Ghostface slammed his fist through his glass door grabbing him by the shirt pulling him closer and banging his head on the metal door frame twice before raising his arm and driving his knife into the poor man's nose. After 2 seconds Ghostface pulled the knife out letting the body flop to the floor with a loud thud.

He then reached inside once more so he could open the door and invite himself in. As he entered he had a very specific target. Sam's report. That was all he needed since after he acquired the files he simply left the scene dissapearing into the day.

The friend group find themselves sitting on a bench by the front lawn of the college in a circular fashion. Mindy was once again doing her how to survive a horror movie routine.

"Ok nerds, listen up. As terrifying as this all is, i'm actually glad i get the chance to redeem myself for not finding out the killers last time." Mindy spoke as the group looked at her with full focus.
"Ok.. The way i see it somebody is out to make a sequel of a requal-" Mindy continued before getting interupted by Anika. "What's a requal?", She asked raising her hand. "You're beautiful sweety but, lets hold questions t'ill the end.", Mindy responded earning a smile from Anika.
"Stab 1 took place in Woodsboro, Stab 2 took place in collega.", Sam spoke. "So we think the killer is trying to copy the movies?", Tara asks to which Mindy responds with: "That is one possibility. Heroes now in collega. Check. Suspicious new characters brought in to round out the suspect list and or body count. Check, check and check.".

"I don't like this.", Ethan says getting fully ignored. After a couple seconds Mindy started speaking again. "But it can't just be about Stab 2.", She says earning a confused Tara. "Why not?", Tara asked to which Mindy responded: "It would make sense if this was a sequal but we're not in a sequal because nobody just makes sequals anymore.", She said earning nods from her fellow students. There was an awkward silence for a couple seconds before Mindy broke it by saying: "We're in a franchise!", whilst raising her arms. "And there are certain rules to a continuing franchise.", Mindy started again. Earning sighs from her friends and a silent "I had a feeling.", from Sam.

"Rule one: Everything is bigger then last time. Bigger budget, bigger cast, bigger body count, longer chases, shoot-outs, beheadings. You got to top what came before to keep people coming back.", Mindy spoke excited. "Beheadings?", Chad asked worried.

"Rule two: Whatever happend last time, expect the opposite. Franchises only survive by subverting expectations.", Mindy said agains taking a few seconds to catch her breath before she continued: "If the killers were whiny snowflake film nerds with letterbox accounts instead of personalities, you can bet the opposite will be true here.", Mindy added looking around at her friends before explaining the final rule.
