It was nearing 9pm and Fatima was growing impatient. Within the last hour, she had been all around the building and had yet to spot Zac. Now this is just desperate, what the hell, she thought to herself. Deciding to just go home, Fatima grabbed her bags and opened her office door. Before she could step out, there stood Zac, looking as if he was about to knock. "Well, looky here," he said with a sly smile. "I'm starting to think this ain't a coincidence."
"Hello to you too, Zac." She smiled back, feeling her pulse quicken. "And here you are, once again in my way."
"Aye aye, I'm just trying to do my job," he said, throwing his hands up in mock defense. "You always stay here this late?" he asked, hoping her answer would be yes.
"Uh, no, I actually don't. I'm usually out of here by 5, 6 at the latest, but the workload has been a little heavier this week, causing me to stay later than usual." She shrugged, partially lying. She could have left earlier today, but she stayed back to catch Zac.
"Well, let me not stand in your way. Goodnight, Ms. Fatima." He smiled before turning to walk away.
"Uh, Zac, hold on..." Fatima called out before he got too far. "Can I have your number?" She mentally face-palmed herself for how desperate it came out, but it was clear he wasn't going to ask for hers, so she had to make her move.
"Who? Me?" He asked, looking genuinely confused. He pointed to himself, looking around to make sure she was talking to him. Fatima chuckled a little.
"Zac, we're the only two standing here."
"Well, in that case, no you cannot." He replied back. Fatima was taken aback; she had never been rejected before. She was somewhat embarrassed for throwing herself out there, mixed with shock. "But I'll take yours though," Zac followed up, seeing the uneasy look on Fatima's face.
Before Fatima could respond, her business phone rang. She held her finger up, retrieving the ringing phone from her purse. She didn't recognize the number, but with her being an attorney, it could have been a client, so she went ahead and answered. "Fatima Wilson," she answered.
"Hi Ms. Wilson, I'm an officer down here at Fulton County. I was calling to let you know they've had your father here for almost four hours and haven't allowed him to call anyone. I had to sneak and call you for him." Fatima was heated. Still listening to the officer, she grabbed a sticky note and jotted down her number for Zac.
"What the fuck... I'm coming now." Fatima hurried out of her office. As she passed Zac, she slapped the sticky note on his chest. He just watched her as she rushed down the hall with her phone still at her ear.
"That girl is crazy," he shook his head and chuckled.

What would've been a 20-minute drive to the precinct turned into a 10-minute ride. She quickly hopped out of her truck, fuming.
"Five fucking seconds to have David Wilson in my face right now or I'll have this whole fucking building turned upside down!" she demanded, addressing a detective who was standing at the desk talking to the secretary. His eyes widened at the sight of Fatima. He wasn't expecting to see her there. They thought they had made sure of it.
For 15 years, they tried taking down David Wilson and his operation but failed miserably every time. Especially now that Fatima was the family's attorney, they became unstoppable. Every time they came close, there she was getting them off.
"Fatima—" Detective Carl started but was cut off by an angry Fatima.
"Four, three..." She started to count down, and he rushed down the hall to the interrogation room.

"David, we've been here for hours. All you have to do is admit that it was you who had Michael killed, and we won't charge you for everything else," Detective Hailey said. She was the lead on this case and was sure she would finally be putting David Wilson behind bars.David sat back, not saying a word. He had been at this for more than 30 years. He knew there wasn't any evidence against him and all she was trying to do was scare him into admitting something that wasn't true.
To the public eye, David was a respected family man and CEO of the Wilson family business: David Motors, a luxurious car dealership across America. He also ran a casino that he co-owned with his brother, William. Behind closed doors, he and his brother were notorious in the drug world. Together they ran the DW Boyz and practically had the whole South in their hands.
Before Detective Hailey could say anything else, an out-of-breath Carl barged in. "I'm sorry, but we have to release him." David sat back, smirking. His baby girl was here.
"What!? We have a solid case..." Detective Hailey replied, her frustration evident.
"We had a solid case. She's here," was all he said back, and Detective Hailey let out a frustrated sigh. This couldn't be happening.
"What do you mean she's here? How is that possible!?" a distraught Hailey yelled out.
"Ah well, if you'll excuse me, guys, I'll be on my way." David rose from his seat, leaving the room with an arrogant smile plastered on his face. Detective Hailey angrily followed behind him, while Detective Carl tried stopping her.
"You know, you all think you're so fucking untouchable. You just wait until the rest of the evidence drops against your father. I'm gonna have a field day bringing down that little family of yours," Hailey stated, folding her arms with a smirk.
"Hailey, Hailey, Hailey. It's been what? Almost a year now. If I were you, I would back off and be careful," Fatima replied, stepping just inches away from Hailey, looking directly into her eyes.
"Is that a threat, Ms. Wilson?" Hailey said, trying not to show how intimidated she was. When it came down to protecting her family, Fatima did whatever was necessary.
"Oh, baby, Fatima doesn't make threats," Fatima replied before winking.
"I will be arresting your father, and I can't wait to see the smirk wiped off your face," Hailey replied, smiling.
"On what grounds, Detective Hailey? What are the charges being brought against my client? For four hours, you illegally held Mr. Wilson for questioning. If I were you, I'd act like Mr. Wilson doesn't even exist. I have your job in the palm of my hands, and I would hate to have to take it there." Fatima stepped back, looking Hailey up and down.
"And this is who they made head of the department. Ha. Come on, Mr. Wilson." She said to her father, who stood off to the side watching his daughter in action. They left, getting into the truck, and Fatima threw her head back on the seat.
"Dad, what the fuck happened this time?"
"Set up a meeting and get everybody to the club now," David replied, not answering her questions. Doing as he said, Fatima called around to her family, letting everyone know to be at Club Eden in 30 minutes.
