After a failed marriage and a career setback, a young man decides to take a break and move to new town called LA with his son to start over. He rents a charming old house to start a new life with his son, as he begins to find out the truth behind his parents desperation for him to stay in El Paso. Along the way, he also finds unexpected love and learns to heal from his past traumas.

Eddie packs his stuff into his jeep along with his son Christophers stuff. He wanted a new start, especially after his wife had left him alone with his son after their doctor had diagnosed young Christopher with cerebral palsy. He had only been back from the army for roughly two nearly three months. Then one day He woke up with his precious son laying next to him giggling and a note on his bedside table. His wife Shannon was nowhere in sight.

Eddie POV

I throw the bags into the trunk of my jeep "Chris, vamos, tenemos que visitar a Tía Pepa" I look back at the house that held my parents and my son that were all stood in the door way "Vamos Edmundo, no necesitas irte de El Paso" I look over at my mom like she just said the dumbest shit ever, which she did "Sí, mamá, No puedo quedarme aquí donde acaba de abandonarnos, Puedo aceptar que ella me deje, pero no Chris" I pick up my son and help him strap into his booster seat before jumping into the driver seat.

With few goodbyes to my parents, Mainly them saying bye to Chris and trying to convince me to let Christopher stay with them, We were gone, On the long 12 hour roadtrip. Over the new few hours we take breaks for Chris and stay the night in Tucson and Phoneix as we pass them by. I wouldn't want my son to sleep in uncomfortable situations like a car. The event of this move was for a new start, for both of us. After my now ex wife left, I had to find a new job, So I went searching. In LA. My parents weren't too happy about it, I thought they would be happy I want this new start for Christopher.

After the rough three days, we finally made it to the house I bought in LA, I quickly brought all our stuff in and then carried the now sleeping Chris to his room which thankfully the movers made it here before we did and and put the basics of the beds, wardrobes, the couch, Tv and the kitchen table. I looked around the house smiling before deciding on bringing my son to my room and spending the first night in our new house with my son. Tomorrow I head to his new school to see if its fit, then leave him with his abuela, who thankfully lives in the LA area, and go for my new job interview that I got a call for while on the road.

~The Next Day~

7:30 I was awake and ready. I decided to let Christopher sleep in another hour or two in bed as it was a really long road trip. I called my Abuela and currently she is on her way over and then I can head to the interview which thankfully is only 20 minutes or so away from the house. I open the door and see my abuela in the doorway. I quickly pull her into a hug before letting her into the home, "I made Christopher some lunch and dinner, Hopefully I'll be back before dinner though. I let him sleep in due to the car ride. I unpacked his Xbox and when he wakes up and eats all I want from him is to unpack either his clothes or just some stuff he wants to put in his room" I rush through explaining to her as I run between around the kitchen and my bedroom for last minute things. She places a hand on my shoulder "Edmundo, todo está bien. Ve, Ve. Lo tengo arreglado lo vas a hacer increíble, solo lo sé, mi amor"

After about 5 more minutes I was out the door, in my jeep on the way to my job interview. Even I get the job today, It still wont be till Christopher starts school full time and I need to find a daycare or something he can go to while I'm working. As predicted I turned up at the job interview in 20 minutes, I leave my jeep and look around smiling knowing this is what I want to do. Be a Firefighter, I was in the military and I loved it, I loved the feeling you get when saving someone. I walk in and head to the captains office before knocking "Come In" is quietly yelled through the door as I enter
