LVLUP:
The girl group LVLUP was created through the survival show, Next Level Idol. The show had 30 idol trainees living together in house for 5 months while competing in challenges for viewer and fellow contestant votes. Challenges included topics such as singing, dancing, rapping, stage presence, interview skills, and team work.
The group debuted a year later and consists of the 5 contestants who received the most viewer and contestant votes. Minji came in first with 1,417,620 votes and Eun-B came in second with 1,201,349. The next three place's scores were incredibly close with Yashi coming in 3rd with 1,197,632 votes, Sun coming in 4th with 1,118,724 votes, and CH coming in 5th with 1,068,524 votes.
The girl group LVLUP was originally only intended to have 4 members. CH was the final girl to be eliminated and after much backlash from viewers she was brought back and named the 5th member LVLUP.
Because Minji came in first place, is the oldest member, and has motherly tendencies, not only did the rest of LVLUP's members unanimously vote for her to be leader, she again won the fan vote.

The boy group DO:ZEN was created through the survival show, Next Level Idol. The show had 30 idol trainees living together in house for 5 months while competing in challenges for viewer and fellow contestant votes. The group debuted 6 months later, consisting of the 6 contestants who received the most viewer and contestant votes. Yun came in first with 2,001,167 votes, Ben in second with 1,893,572, KAT came in 3rd with 1,593,183 votes, Kangmin came in 4th with 1,486,294 votes, Jay came in 5th with 1,393,475 votes, and Zihou came in 6th with 1,284,366 votes.
Because Yun came in first place, is the oldest member, and showed leadership during the show, Yun won the fan and member vote for Leader.
