reese threw up stomach acid as she laid sick in the bathroom. the past two weeks beat reese up. she couldn't keep up the act of not caring about what happened between shiloh and her. after her friends left it became so much harder. she was lonely. she didn't know anybody and everyone had their own lives to attend to.

reese saw that shiloh had a new girlfriend. it seemed he actually liked her because he always posted her. he was always taking her out and buying her things. reese watched it all and it broke her heart more and more each time. she had stalked the girls page a hundred times.

the sad part was reese felt like nobody wanted her. not the man who got her pregnant. not her mom. her father wanted to get rid of her while he dealt with the divorce—reese going to atlanta was his idea. she hated all of this and the worse of it all was she had someone else to live for. there was a little human in her trying to grow and prosper and she was on the way. she was a mom and she was in the way of her own child. the depression ate away at reese and it became too much at times. she could feel like feeling burst through her like a overfilling pot. she didn't know what to do with all the anger she had. she though about the life she should've have. how shiloh ruined her life. he traumatized her.

she sat in her bed as she let her fingers type away at the girls instagram name. before she could press the page she has a group facetime call from nari and jess.

"girl why shiloh new dusty bitch talking about you on her story"

"really" reese asked dryly, unfazed. this was normal.

"yeah go look" jess said

reese let her fingers find her way to the girls story. it was a screenshot of reese in her views with the caption, "bitches be obsessed😂". reese had no reaction.

"i don't wanna feed into this guys" reese said to her friends as just stared blankly at the screen

"reese this not like you what's going on"

"i'm pregnant and i don't wanna stress the baby" she lied. she was so depressed that her baby was too. baby reese didn't kick as often but she would still move around sometimes. but reese knew the truth—they missed daddy.

reese didn't say much before abruptly ending the call. "i'm tired though. ima text him and ask him why she's talking about me" reese finished before she pressed the red button. she thought about her next moves before she dialed the number she knew by heart. it ring a couple times before he picked up. "wassup"

"hi" is all reese could get from between her lips as she played with the strings of her hoodie. it was raining outside and she had low iron—she was always cold.

"what's good reese" shiloh said blankly. she could hear sirens in the back and a echo so she knew he was connected to his cars speaker.

"nothing" was all she said

"whatchu call for?" he asked

"just wanted to know if you were interested to see how your baby was doing" she heard someone smack their teeth

"man be quiet" she heard shiloh say, "y'all good?" he asked dryly

reese just hung up the phone. she knew who was in the passenger seat. she knew who ducked their teeth. why was shiloh dating a stripper? she was never his type from the beginning. shiloh ruined her. he cheated on her, ruined her esteem, and trapped her. why wouldn't he just like her go? she pondered with these questions before she decided to make another call. the phone rang once before he immediately picked up.

"who dis?" kay said over the line

"reese" she said quietly

"reese?" he questioned not fully hearing the girl

"yes"

"wassup my heart? whatchu been up to?" he asked. all he could think about was how she got jumped and he never checked up on her.

"i'm sad kay" reese said as she started to cry over the phone

"what's wrong ma?" he asked, his heart warming up to the girl he loves

"i'm lonely"

"i can come chill witchu" kay said trying to offer her solutions to her problems.

"i'm in atlanta" she replied through a sniffle

"why you out thea?" kay asked

"because i wanted peace but i just feel so lonely."

"you not with ole boy anymore?" kay asked. he figured as he had seen him with a whole nother bitch in the club.

"no we broke up. i came out here to get away from him but it's like he doesn't even care about the baby"

"that's fucked up ree" he said. he wasn't gonna waste his breathe giving her advice because she would probably run back if given the opportunity.

"can i tell you a secret kay"

"wassup" he leaned up in his bed

"baby reese hasn't moved in a couple days" she sobbed harder

"reese you gotta go to da hospital" kay said as he got worried. it wasn't his baby but he knew how much reese loved the little human growing inside of her.

"i know but i'm scared of what they're gonna say. and i have no one to go with me" she cried even harder

kay's face sat sadly over the other end of the phone. "i'a stay on da phone witchu at ya appointment. you just gotta go reese" she nodded her head before getting up and putting on shoes. she grabbed her keys as she headed down the elevator to the garage.

reese got in her car and googled the nearest hospital. kay could see stray tears falling down her face. "i wish i could come and see ya but i'm on probation" he said as he showed a bracelet on his ankle

"it's okay kay" reese said quietly as she typed the address into her gps system. she started the car and backed out as she started to make her way to the hospital. kay sat in silence over the phone before she made it.

reese walked into the hospital and kay just listened.

"what's wrong ma'am?" he heard someone ask

"my baby hasn't moved" reese said to the nurse

"okay. we're just gonna take you back, okay sweetie?" reese nodded her head before following the lady to a room. "we're gonna take your vitals and preform an ultrasound"

reese set her phone down and took her clothes off as kay sat on mute over the line. she put on a johnny and let the nurse practitioner take her vitals. once she put the stethoscope to reese's stomach, she could see the panic on the nurses face.

"i'll be right back hun okay?" she said as she trashed her gloves and headed out of the room

reese picked up her phone. "kay i don't think it's good" she said as she started to cry.

it took a few seconds before he came off of mute. "don't wish the worse ma y'all gon be good" kay prayed

a team of doctors came into the room and kay could hear the commotion. they all hovered over the screen as the lady ran the machine over reese's stomach. reese could see her baby. she had a thumb in her mouth. reese smiled as the tears fell. she noticed the doctors looking at her with sorrow and she knew—she knew.

"ms. lockheart i hate to say this but your baby has no heartbeat"

the words went in one ear and out the other. "will it come back?" reese innocently asked. she didn't know anything about pregnancy or being a mom. she was an 18 year-old girl who didn't even get to live out her life. neither did her baby.

reese felt the tears pour as she felt her chest start to cave. "i need an inhaler" one doctor said over a cell phone. reese started uncontrollably sobbing, letting out full wails as she processed the death of her baby. she was so caught up in the moment she forgot kay could hear the whole thing. he felt tears break the the brim of his eyes as he watched this moment tear reese apart.

"my baby" she cried
