Part 3 – Sixth Year

It was still hard to even look at Seamus without thinking about that night. It’s gotten a little better, but not by much. I’ve talked to him a bit, we’ve become closer then we were at the end of our Fourth Year, but were still not as close as we were before he got together with Lavender. I decided to walk to the Black Lake and study for Potions by myself. When I got there, there was someone sitting in my usual spot. I frowned a bit but then realised it was Seamus. I slowly turned around and tried to walk away but unfortunately I stood on a stick and it snapped making a really loud noise.

“Amoret” he said in a shaky voice. I instantly turned around with a smile on my face.

“Hey Seamus” I then noticed he had been crying. “Are you okay?!” I exclaimed as I rushed to his side.

“No. Lavender just broke up with me” I was in complete shock. They… broke up? Lavender and Seamus broke up? I felt bad because as he said it, I felt my heart skip a beat.

“Oh you poor thing! Do you know why?” I asked as I sat down and put my arm around his shoulder

“It turns out she likes someone else” he said as he rested his head on my shoulder. My guess was Ron Weasley. She had been eyeing him a bit in class lately.

“It’ll be alright. You don’t need her. I didn’t really like her anyway” Seamus gave a sad laugh and smiled slightly.

“I noticed. You always avoided me when I was with her” he looked at me. “I hated it. I hated not being close to you because your one of my best friends and she was driving me away from you”

“I know. It’s alright. Don’t worry about it, we’ll just have to rebuild the relationship” I smiled a true smile at him, the first on in a while.

“Good” he said as he stared at me with sadness in his eyes. I feel bad and sorry for him. I really hated Lavender now. But I guess who wouldn’t if she hurt your best friend. Best friend… that’s all he’s ever going to be. We sat there together, just the two of us. Talking and laughing. I missed the times I had with him.

We then spent the rest of the day together, and the next… and the next. We were beginning to go back to how we were, just us… and Luna and Dean, occasionally Neville. Alright so it wasn’t just us, but it was fun at least.
