Part 4 - The Battle Of Hogwarts

Where is he? Where is he! Please be okay! Please… just please be okay. I ran around helplessly trying to find Seamus. Voldemort was attacking Hogwarts and I needed to make sure he was alright. I couldn’t bear it if I lost him.

I suddenly heard a loud explosion coming in the direction of the bridge. That’s gotta be him! I ran as fast as I could over to the bridge and saw it had collapsed. Oh no! I thought as I knelt to the ground with my head down. There’s no mistaking it, Seamus had been the one who blew it up. No one else would have known what to do. I began to cry with my head in my hands.

“Amoret watch out!” I heard a familiar voice call to me. I turned around to see a Death Eater… then a bright green light shooting towards me. I closed my eyes and basically accepted the end, but a large figure of weight moved me. I snapped my eyes back open again as the voice yelled out;

“Stupefy!”

The Death Eater then flew backwards and out of sight. The owner of the voice then pulled me into a tight embrace and began to cry.

“You’re so stupid Amoret!! You almost died! Then what would I have done?” Seamus said as I looked up to his tear soaked face and smiled. “Why are you smiling?” he asked

“Because I heard the bridge explode… I thought it was one of your spells gone wrong again… I thought you had died!” I almost whispered as I hugged him tightly.

“You really don’t have much faith in my spells do you?” he asked as he slightly smiled

“Well, you manage to blow something up every year” I replied. We were now both calm and were staring into each other’s eyes. We then suddenly heard something above us and saw what looked like about, twenty Dementors.

“Expecto Patronum!” we both yelled together. Seamus’s fox Patronum and my Dolphin Patronum circled each other as the hit the Dementors and sent them flying like the Death Eater.

“Amoret… it’s too dangerous here” Seamus started but I finished for him

“I know. Let’s try and find Luna”

“And Dean” Seamus finished. I smiled as he grabbed my hand and we ran to find our friends. We shouted spells at Death Eaters, trolls and giant spiders as they tried to separate us.

We found our way to the astronomy tower and looked down at the scene. It was horrific. All you could see was fighting, people dying and the spells being sent out of their wands. I looked over at the Quidditch field and saw that is had been set on fire and was burning to the ground.

“Not the Quidditch field!” I exclaimed in horror as I clenched my fists. I was now very angry. They can’t cancel Quidditch! I then began to storm out of the tower

“Where are you going Amoret?” Seamus asked as he ran to catch up with me

“I need to hurt something! They can’t do this to Quidditch!” I said angrily. Seamus then pushed me hard against the wall to stop me from going. “What are you doing?” I yelled at him accidentally

“Making sure your safe!” he said firmly. We stood there with a strong gaze in both our eyes. It calmed me down and I realised how close we were. I began to blush.

“Seamus…” I said quietly.

“Yeah?” he said. I couldn’t help it. I couldn’t hold myself back anymore.

“Seamus I love you!” I said loudly. There was a long pause as Seamus looked completely shocked.

“You… what?” he asked in disbelief

“I love you! I’m saying this now because I know there’s a good chance one of us will die tonight. And I don’t want to regret not saying it at all. So I love you!” I said firmly. There was another silence and Seamus loosened his grip on me. Once again I felt my heart break. I knew it was nothing more than friends. I felt my eyes being threatened by tears. I wanted to run, but Seamus’s grip was still too strong for me to get away.

“Amoret do you really mean that?” he suddenly asked.

“Yes. Of course I do! Why do you think I fainted that day in our First Year! Because I liked you! I still can’t believe Luna did that for me…” I said as I looked away in embarrassment.

“Amoret…” Seamus whispered. There was something in his voice… some sort of emotion I couldn’t describe. I met his eyes once more to see if I could figure it out, but instead I was greeted by Seamus’s lips upon mine. He pulled back and I stared at him in shock. “I love you too! I always have! The only reason I dated Lavender was because I had feelings for you I couldn’t describe. I wanted to find out so I used Lavender as an excuse! I know it was wrong but I began to like her, then she broke up with me. And we became close again…” he said with a slight sadness in his words.

“You idiot! Do you know how much that hurt me?!” I yelled at him

“I know… I’m sorry” he said and bowed his head.

“You should be!” I felt tears of happiness and sadness stinging my eyes.

“Amoret…” he started

“What?” I said a little bit angrily

“Be mine?” he asked as he lifted his head up again. I stared into his eyes once more and slightly smiled.

“Idiot… of course I will” I said as I threw my arms over his shoulder and kissed him passionately. I didn’t want to let him go. But what broke us apart was someone yelling;

“Stupefy!”

We instantly spit apart to see Luna and Dean standing there. They smiled at us and I rested my head on Seamus’s chest.

“There’s a bloody war going on and you two are us here having a jolly good time on a date?!” Dean yelled

“It’s not a date, it’s more like a confession meeting… something like that” Luna said.

“Why in the name of Merlin are you two doing that at a time like this?!” Dean then yelled in protest again.

“Why not?” I said “Seems like the best time to me”

“One of us could die today” Seamus ended for me. I took a glance and smiled at him.

“Oh Merlin help me” Dean said as he began to walk away. “Took you guy’s long enough!” both Seamus and I laughed as we walked hand in hand down one of the corridors of Hogwarts together.

The battle was long, but it was won. Hogwarts was still standing and Seamus was still alive. I was happy. And so was Luna after Neville confessed to her. She had been madly in love with him since our Third Year. We were all happy.
