Rain was running down my face and my hair was drenched.I just stared at the house I used to call home. I felt nothing. I won't be gone forever. I will make it home in the end.
"Are you sure?" he asked me. I thought for a second. I had to be sure and I think I am.
"Yes. We need to go" I say to him as I walk towards the car. He doesn't follow me. Just stares.
He had every right to doubt me but he had promised to help me and I knew he wasn't going to let me down.
Our friends and my new life was waiting.
"Dominic?" I asked.
He came to me. We sat in the car and drove away. I didn't look back. I couldn't.
He respected that. He respected me.
I wasn't happy but I was somewhat okay. I made it my mission to be okay.
I'll be back.
Everybody knows that nothing ever lasts forever.
