All Strings Attached

I woke up with a bit of ringing in my head, I was used to this it usually happened when my father beats me so it didn't bother me to much, but it was ringing a bit more than usual, I put on a crop top but covered it with a lavender turtleneck so in case I get hot I can go to the restroom and take it off for a bit. (I know it's cringy but I need to set it up, I also wrote this when I was like 13)

I guess I was just kind of used to this type of stuff, my father gets drunk a lot so when he is angry it ends in me covered with open cuts and bruises everywhere, so I put makeup on my face to cover that part. I looked in the mirror to check it out. I really don't like the way I look. God I am so fat.

I walked down the stairs and I saw a note which surprised me because my parents don't usually talk to me in the morning. Especially on big work days. I grabbed the note and read it "Dani," I grimaced at the nickname. "I am so sorry about your dad." I winced at the word dad. "I tried to stop him last night but he just wouldn't stop." That is usual for my mom. Always trying to help me with my father. She is a little better than him but she still doesn't care for me too much. Just as much as she should so I don't die. I decided I am not going to eat anymore or drink water so that I can slim down.

I slowly walked to school as I did not have breakfast this morning so I can be slimmer. I walked in and saw a few people looking at me like I was a crazy person because it was summer and I was wearing a turtleneck. I just let them be and walked to my locker when I heard a very familiar voice.
"Hey loser."
Oh my gosh Seungmin can never leave me alone! I just fight with him all the time. I hate him so much. Especially when he is funny, because I hate him. "What do you want, Seungmin?"
"Like always just wanna make a fool of ya."
Gosh he doesn't even have proper grammar. "Can't you just leave?"
"Like I'm ever gonna do that. You know I love bothering you, it brightens my day!"
I gave him a glare. Why is he always so cocky? He patted my cheek then walked away as if nothing had happened.

I rolled my eyes at the movement before bitterly smiling a bit then went to math class which is, sadly, my very first period. I walked in and sat at a seat and started getting my supplies out. Seuingmin walked in like he owned the place and sat down. Which would be fine but today he decided to sit down right behind me. I knew he was planning something I just didn't know what.

As the class started I was getting hot and then I felt Seungmin's feet hitting my chair. I quickly snapped around and gave him the scariest glare possible for me which he returned with a nasty smirk. He laughed at my efforts, mouthing "You look cute." before giving me a head nod to turn around so the teacher wouldn't get me in trouble for not paying attention in class.

I started feeling a little faint so I asked to be excused to the restroom. I heard some footsteps behind me, but I figured it was just my brain. I started walking faster due to my brain playing tricks on me but I got dizzy and I fainted.

Danielle had started looking a little pale while in class and then she asked to be excuse so I was worried despite the way I tease her a bit she knows it is a bit more of a loving type of tease I would never try to actually hurt her, physically or mentally I will always try to protect her no matter what.

I asked the teacher to go to my locker but I was actually just trying to follow Danielle. I walked a bit further behind her in the halls. She started staggering her steps and not walking as straight forward which worried me a bit so I quickened my pace. Then I saw her fall. She fainted! I quickly ran to her, catching her before her head could hit the floor. Her body seemed so fragile in my arms and she was really warm.

I rushed her to the nurses office to see what was going on. Once we got there the nurse seemed worried I placed her on one of the beds and as I did that the nurse checked her temperature. I peaked at the temperature and I saw that she was at 102. This scared me. I didn't want her hurt.

The nurse quickly reacted by throwing the turtle neck off her and I was surprised to see bruises. What had been happening to her that the nurse didn't seem bothered by it so I asked her worriedly because of this new discovery.

"Hey! Don't you see those bruises?"
"Of course I do. She has come to me more than once like this. I know how to deal with it."
"Well, what happened to her?" I asked the nurse still in utter shock
"Seungmin, you know I can't tell you that" I cut her off
"I don't care about the rules!" I say, raising my voice. "Just tell me what happened to her!"
"Danielle's dad, he hits her." She says hesitantly
"What? He just hits her for no reason?" I say in confusion.
"He only does it when he drinks. But her mother doesn't do much to help."
"So, he really does that to her?"
Danielle wakes up and says to me slowly with pain in her voice.
"Yeah, they do."

I was scared since I hadn't seen her wake up yet. So, I screamed. "DANIELLE? WHAT THE HE-"
The school nurse covered my mouth while Danielle held her ears because of how loud I was. If I am being honest I think I scared her. I lowered my voice and tried to talk sweetly. "Oh, um, I'm sorry, are you ok?" She nodded her head and I think I saw her eyes getting teary but I'm not too sure.
"Why are you acting caring all of the sudden?" she questioned me.
"Well you got hurt. I'm not that bad of a guy." I chortled "Anyways you look stupid right now"
"Yeah right. You look stupid too!" She responded snarkily
She stuck her tongue out at me and I followed doing the same thing. Just then the bell rang.

Apparently the nurse had checked the time so she left to grab mine and Seungmin's backpack while we were fighting.
"Thank you." I said with a sweet smile. Then I nudged Seungmin with my elbow a little too hard because I heard him grunt in pain, before he forced a smile.
"Um yeah, thanks"

They both walked into their separate classes which were coincidentally right across from each other just as Danielle is about to walk in she is stopped by Seungmin holding onto her wrist
    "I know we both hate each other but" he sighs "If you need any help or you feel sick at all just... wave at me through the window"
Danielle nods walking into the class before she is stopped again by him
    "Oh... and if you mention me doing this to anyone you will regret it."
Danielle rolls her eyes and reluctantly agrees to his statement. She walks into class a bit embarrassed at the fact she walked in late but luckily the teacher was not in class yet so no one looked at her. She walked up to an open seat which was in the back and sat down. The teacher walked in and started class.

Hey bros, I just decided to post this, I literally write this story on Google docs so please do not be mad if the updates are slow. please forgive for how cringy and non unique this story is 😭 anywayssss I just needed to set up their relationship and show some of her home life 🤭I am trying to make longer chapters so it isn't boring.
