Thought POV

I dashed further, the scent of Sea stronger then ever.

As I reached the clearing that was the center of the forest, I saw a vine, with a few rocks in a net at the end. I followed the vine, seeing Sea, who was struggling against ropes to no avail, blazing torch tied to the end.

"SEA!" I cried, dashing to the vine to stop the torch.

As soon as I got near the vine, the ground caved in, sharp stakes underneath me.

I screamed, and shut my eyes, readying myself.

I felt no pain.

I cautiously opened my eyes, and found myself on a crumbling ledge, about ten feet below the opening I fell through. As soon as my eyes adjusted, I heard a scream, followed by a thud.

"NOOO!!!!!" I shouted, assuming the worst.

I had lost sea.

Sea POV

I was in severe danger at this point.

The torch was so close to me it was slowly burning the skin on my paws.

I was about to give up hope on being rescued, when I heard twigs snapping, and leaves crumbling. When I looked, I saw that it was Thought.

He noticed the vine, and followed its length until he saw me.

"SEA!" He cried out my name, dashing to the vine.

Right as he was about to get to the vine, a hole opened up underneath him, showing huge stakes.

I watched, helpless, as Thought fell.

As soon as Thought fell, I felt a blazing pain tap my paw.

I screamed, and knocked the torch out of the knot, and heard it thud against the ground far below.

Soon after I heard a voice from the hole call out "NOOO!!!!!" As sad as I was that I had scared Thought, I was glad to know he was ok.

"Thought, I'm fine!! That was the torch!" I shouted down to him, soon I heard a relieved sigh.

Now how do I get down? I wondered. I had a lot of experience climbing trees.....

I got a mid-sized branch, and sharpened it carefully on another tree branch. Soon after I cut my back paws ropes, and used my small claws to grapple onto the tree, then I cut my front paw ropes, and quickly grabbed the trunk with my front paws.

Then, I carefully slid down the tree, hopping to branches. I then went over to the pit Thought fell into.

I saw him, back against the wall, only one or two inches of soil between him and death. I tried reaching down to grab him, but couldn't reach. "Jump up to me!" I told him, holding out my paw.

He looked nervous, then nodded intently, jumping up and grabbing my paw. I pulled him up, exhausted. As soon as I got up I felt Thought imbrace me in a fierce hug. "WHAT HAPPENED!?" he asked, worried. "I'll tell you back at camp." I said. "We should go." "Let's." I said, racing into the forest, close behind Thought.

FYI

The fire was from the mystical fire attack, so it could only be extinguished by the user of the attack stopping it.
