Chapter Ten: Best?

I walked out of Starbucks and took a sip from my drink. Michael and Andy were out on a date again. Ash and Cal had to help their 'close' neighbour fix his car. Luke and I are still in non-speaking terms so I don't know what he's doing, same with Matt so I don't really have someone to go with here.

I stood there, looking around the new mall that just opened about two weeks ago.The mall was different, it's an open area. I walked around a few shops and to see if I'd find something interesting. One thing caught my eye, it was in an accessory store, it was a necklace that had a electric guitar on it. It looks really cute, I thought.

"Hey!" I heard a familiar voice say.

I turned around a saw it was Luke. Great. I thought.

"Hey, Luke!" I greeted him awkwardly.

"I'm sorry about my attitude the other night, Tris." He said. "But don't worry I'll tell you why I did that."

"It's okay, Luke." I smiled.

"Can we talk about this tomorrow?" He smiled.

"Yeah sure!" I replied. "What are you doing here?"

"Ohh since it's an open area, me and my friends decided to skate around here." He explained.

"Ohh you skate?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah." He said.

"I've always wanted to skate."

"Want me to teach you how tomorrow?" He asked. "We could also talk about the thing tomorrow?"

"Yeah, that's a great idea!" I said.

"Cool! See you, Best!" He grinned.

"Best?"

"Friends." Ouch. "Best Friends."

"Yeah." I fake smiled. "Best Friends."

"Bye! See you!" He says before hugging me and walking away.

Finally! I'm home! I thought. I walked to the front porch and was surprised to see that Matt was there. He stood up once he saw me and hugged me, and of course as his friend I hugged him back. I pulled away and looked at his eyes, he looked like he's been crying.

"Matt?"

"Yes?" He sniffled.

"Were you crying?"

He sniffled again.

"Why?"

"Because I thought I'd lose you."

"Mat-"

"I couldn't bare the thought of you not forgiving me." He said.

"Matt, it's okay." I said. "I just need know to why you did that."

"Becaus-"

He was interrupted by of course my brother, he always has good timing, doesn't he?

"Tris, go inside it's cold and late." He said. "Matt, I suggest you go home now. It's going to be even more dangerous when you go home later."

"Umm, see you." I said before going in and shutting the door.

I sat the couch and sighed, I feel really confused. What was Matt going to say?

"Deep thought?"

"No, I just I really don't know what Matt's problem is." I sighed.

"Well, you're one of his best friends I'm pretty sure he'll tell you."

"I hope so."

"Yeah." He said. "Let's eat."

"Okay." I smiled.
