A 14-year-old girl was on her computer, playing Natural Disasters Survival on the computer. It was 1:30am and she knew she wasn't supposed to be up at this time. Her parents didn't want her staying up this late or she was going to get used to it. Although, she had a plan on waking up extremely early to play video games and then go back to bed at 5:40am before her parents woke up. It was a simple yet complex plan. She had to make sure she didn't make a lot of noise or her and her sister's computer privileges were taken away. She had gone an entire month without her parents finding out about her early morning gaming.

The girl then felt hungry. She exited the game so that she wouldn't get kicked out for being afk for too long and put it in sleep mode in case her parents would catch her and ask what she was up to.

She opened the door silently. The entire house was silent and the lights from the front porch were on. She quietly made her way to the kitchen and looked inside the fridge. There was a pitcher of iced tea and a bottle of coke. She took out the juice and poured herself a cup. She takes a sip, puts the cup on the kitchen counter and grabs the cheese flavored cup noodles from the fridge. She was lucky that her mom let her buy the noodles. She had 4 of them to eat whenever she felt like it.

She goes over to the water dispenser that they had and opened the cover of the noodles, putting it under the hot water tap and pressed a button, turning it on. When it was almost filled, she released the button and took the noodles to the table, covering it with a saucer. While waiting for it to cook, she looks for her phone in the living room and finds it on the coffee table.

She goes back to the kitchen and stops in her tracks to see a man sitting on the kitchen sink. He had long hair, an orange snakelike tail, and scales in a small portion of his face. He had an orange part on his bangs and he had a cape that looked worn out, fading from black to orange. He was wearing a black homburg hat had an orange feather. He wore glasses with orange frames, dark orange pants, black oxford shoes, and black long sleeve polo with suit straps.

The girl raised an eyebrow. Both her and the strange man looked at each other before the girl asked, "Are you hungry?"

The stranger seemed to be surprised by what she said and nodded. She took a bag of loaf bread and took out two pieces, putting them in a plate. She puts peanut butter in one half and puts strawberry jam in the other. She puts the two pieces together and gives it to the stranger who takes it, thanks the girl, and eats it.

The girl went to the kitchen table and sat on a chair, watching TikTok. She made sure the volume was at it's lowest level. Most people would say that no noise was coming out of it. To her, she could hear just fine.

She decided to ask the stranger a question. "Are you a Side?"

The stranger dusted the crumbs off of his hands and said, "How can you tell?"

"You look a lot like the others but with the scales. Also, Noah mentioned a snake Side."

The stranger smiled and said, "Yup. That's me. Noah is a good friend of mine but he really can't keep a secret. I can't shut him up because of how unfiltered he is."

"Which Side do you represent?" The girl asked.

"I represent your deception. Perhaps you know the reason why I showed up?"

The girl nodded. She took the saucer off the cup noodles and puts the cup noodles on the saucer, taking it, a fork, and the cup of juice to the bedroom with her. The Side followed the girl and closed the door behind her since he saw her hands were full.

The girl puts the noodles and the cup on the computer table and turned the computer on, eating some of her noodles.

"What do I call you?" The girl asked, looking at the Side who was now sitting on her bed.

"Call me Deceit, for now. I won't tell you my name when I'm ready," the Side responded.

The girl looked at him with a confused look. Deceit added, "Sorry. I usually end up lying unintentionally so don't get used to it."

"Ah, okay," The girl nodded. She opened Roblox and decided to play Work At A Pizza Place, constantly switching from being a Supplier to a Cook. For some reason, she couldn't help but take this game seriously. She waited until the Manager was going to leave the game so that she could get the spot.

Deceit asked her, "You do know what your parents said about this, right?"

The girl nodded, taking off one of the speakers on her headphones so that she could hear him clearly and hear the noises outside in case her parents would wake up.

"How long are you gonna keep this up?" Deceit asked.

"Well, I don't really know. I'm gonna set up a schedule for this, though. Probably twice or thrice a month."

"Seems like Raymond's still awake. You're pretty smart with these kinds of stuff. Smart and mischievous."

"Thanks. I don't usually get a lot of people saying that I'm smart."

"You are. Just in a different way."

The girl smiled and continued playing the game. Deceit decided to sit on the floor beside her and watch her play.

The girl knew she was a liar and didn't mind it. It was hurtful to know but she knew that everyone was imperfect. Her dad told her that there was no such thing as an honest person. Hell, he wasn't even honest himself.

When her alarm on her phone went off, she turned it off and shut off her computer, turning off the ring light beside her and putting the empty cup, fork, and saucer back on the cupboard, washing the fork and cup, and threw the container on the trash bin.

She went back to bed and pulled the covers over her, going to sleep. Deceit patted on her head through her covers and smiled softly to himself. He didn't expect her to be okay with him being here. He expected her to be in denial at first but accepting that she was a liar wasn't common. Most people would deny the idea of them being dishonest despite being 100% honest impossible. It was nice to know that the girl accepted her deceitfulness.

Hopefully, she was also open to hear that she was a 'he'.
