a/n: I wanted to try writing people who had stuttering since I had a classmate who stuttered a lot. I just thought of putting some rep in this story. If he's reading this, ur a rlly cool guy :D
also, I decided that there will be some stories that won't have the Sides on them. I will be labeling them as RANDOMIZER! whenever the Sides aren't involved a lot. enjoy!
"Okay, class! Find a partner for this activity."
Ryan hated it when they had to choose their own partners. It would always end up with them being partnered up with someone they straight-up did not like, someone who didn't like them, or they would end up going solo.
Jayden was going to partner up with his friend, Michelle, and Alan was going to partner up with Roland. Of course, they didn't want to partner up with Nicky since they always had a bad feeling whenever she acted all nice and friendly towards them.
They messaged the student group chat since their classmates were most likely going to use their phones for the activity.
Hii. Does anyone not have a partner yet?
- [dead name]i dont have one yet
- CalebCan u partner up with me?
- [dead name]sure
- CalebRyan picked up his manila paper and went to the back of the classroom. He sat on the floor like everyone else with their partners, waiting for his. He saw Caleb stand up from his chair and walk over to where he was. Ryan was glad he was at least a little familiar with him, considering Alan and him hung out most of the time. Caleb sat down beside him and said, "Okay s-so we're just go-gonna mmmake our own problem, right?"
Ryan nods, "Yeah, I guess. I'm not really sure how these things work."
"Yeah, tha-that's fine. I don't kn-know how it works either. A-also, I'm sorry if I ssspeak weirdly. I-I don't know why bu-but it's a con-condition I th-think."
"No, it's alright. I don't mind."
Ryan had heard a lot about Caleb from his other classmates. Although, most of them seemed a little weirded out by him.
It was the first day of 10th grade. Ryan wasn't really that social ever since the pandemic passed by. He didn't know how to communicate with others properly. It sucked for him a lot, considering the fact that he was hopeful about making new friends.
It was at lunchtime when he heard it. He couldn't help but listen in on their conversation. They were even sitting so damn close to his seat.
"You guys heard about Caleb, right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"He's so fucking weird, dude. Like, that guy stutters a lot. Not to mention his anger issues."
"I know, right? The only other person who talks to him is Alan."
"Well, yeah but they both have, like, the same amount of weirdness. Of course, the two of them would hang out."
Ryan wanted to intervene and tell them that Caleb had more friends than they thought he had but kept quiet. He didn't like confrontation, especially if it would lead to him arguing with someone. It might end with him crying which would be really embarrassing or his intrusive thoughts winning and beating those people up. But he couldn't help but feel bad about him. He was clearly misunderstood a lot.
