Third person POV

With Eren and M/N now official members of the survey corps, they are quickly greeted by several veterans of the corps. Members of the Levi squad - the greatest titan fighting team, all handpicked specifically by humanity's strongest himself. Everyone begins to greet their horses, everyone except for M/N who stands a good couple of meters away from them. Staring at the giant beasts in awe, never having seen a horse before, let alone having to ride one. "M/N, you'll ride with Eren," Levi says in his typical cold tone, climbing onto his horse with ease and grabbing the reins.

M/N POV

No way in hell I am riding one of those things. No way. Eren smiles at me softly, before jumping onto one of the horses. It's huge, with black beady eyes that stare into my soul. I take a step away from the horse, shaking my head. "I'm good." Everyone seems to deadpan at my reaction before Levi states "You don't have a choice. Get on the horse" I stare at him again, before sighing and making my way toward the horse. Eventually, I reach my hand towards its face as I saw the others do and pet its nose softly. The horse huffs at this, and I make my way over to Eren who extends his hand and pulls me onto the horse.

Trotting along, I can't help but stare in awe at the horse, patting its side and feeling its coarse coat under my fingertips. My short moment of excitement is interrupted as Levi begins to speak "We're heading to the old scout headquarters. You two, stay close. The only reason you aren't tied up is because we're here." Eren nods stiffly as Levi looks at us. One of the soldiers alongside us begins to speak as well, explaining that It's an old castle that was remodeled but ended up being useless to the regiment and is now going to be used as a hideout for me and Eren. The soldier proceeds to try and intimidate us but bites his tongue in the process, making me stare at him in disappointment and slight awe at his stupidity.

As we arrive at the hideout, I can't help but stare at the building. It's a huge, stone castle just as the tongue-biter said, with each brick perfectly laid on top of one another. Another soldier - the ginger lady - walks up to Tongue-biter,  and she begins to scold him, stating how it's his fault that he bit his own tongue by talking too much while riding a horse. "First impressions are important, Petra. I bet those newbies pissed their pants in fear". The ginger lady who I guess is named Petra continues to scold him, while I stare in shock at the two. These are the people who will kill me if I make a wrong move. How reassuring that they're both bumbling idiots.

Hearing footsteps behind me, I see the other two soldiers begin to talk about the state of the castle. "It hasn't been cleaned in a while, huh," The blonde guy says, as the dark-haired man nods in agreement. I turn around to see Levi with a serious look of distaste on his face, thinking for a moment before ordering everyone to begin cleaning. He marches off quickly, seemingly looking for supplies while everyone else begins to explore the castle. I walk in slowly, the cold castle walls welcoming me as I enter. Snooping around, I find a kitchen, dining room, and multiple empty supply rooms, before being interrupted by the blonde guy. "Hey, kid. Head outside to grab some cleaning supplies, okay?" He says, looking at me with half kindness and half suspicion before leaving the room. Sighing gently, I quickly follow after him, heading outside again.

I end up being stuck with cleaning the kitchen, and I stare at all the supplies Levi has given me. I don't know what the hell half this stuff does, so I'll stick to the basics. I grab a sponge and some soapy water and begin scrubbing the life out of every table, counter, and windowsill. I then sweep the floor, getting rid of the mounds of dust that have collected over the years. As I stand back to silently appreciate my work, I realize a problem. A huge problem. I'm too short to reach the top cabinets and clean them. Cursing myself for my height, I creep out of the room in search of something I can use for a boost, maybe a chair or something like that. My searching is interrupted by someone's voice appearing behind me "What are you doing"

I slowly turn around to see Tongue-biter, wearing a... White cloth? "Looking for a chair. I need to reach the cabinets." I say quietly, staring up at him while still trying to figure out what he's wearing around his face. He mockingly laughs at my words, "Too short to reach, huh?" I say nothing as my stare grows harsher, and he sweatdrops slightly at this. "Just point me in the direction, Tongue-biter," I say matter-of-factly, trying to pay no mind to his remark about my height. He is seemingly very offended by this, loudly yelling something about "no respect" as I decide he is of no help and leave the room to search elsewhere.
