chapter fifteen // the bet?

hey everyone this story is going to end real soon, maybe i'll end it at chapter 20, i have no idea but yeah, enjoy chapter fifteen :-)

i was in the middle of doing my history homework, until a loud knocking on the door downstairs interrupted me. it's probably luke, i thought.

and i was right.

he looked angry, upset, hurt, which caused me to ask him "luke, what's wrong? are you okay?" to which he responded with "let's sit down, we need to talk." we need to talk. the line that worried everyone.

we sat ourselves down onto the couch and he explained to me how he knew about the bet that ali and i have made, before i actually fell in love with him. my heart dropped to my stomach and my body got all hot, it's what happens when i get nervous.

"luke i swear it was before i actually liked you, please, i love you okay?" i told him. "you don't love me and i doubt that you ever did. nobody could ever truly love me. i was just some game, some bet, what's the prize for winning? because you've won, i love you, are you happy now?" he says, storming off and slamming the door shut.

i called ali.

"alison, you told luke about the bet? because he just came over and im pretty sure that i no longer have a boyfriend." i say, walking up into my room.

"itsortofjustslippedimsorryokay."

"are you kidding me ali? how could you do this to me?" i ask her, sounding upset and i was on the verge of crying. "i swear kate, i didn't mean to say it, i would never purposely hurt you i promise you that, im sorry for being such a fuck up." she says, i could hear her crying.

"just come over, i could use a hug." any other person would've hung up on her but there was no way i was going to let a guy come in between ali and i, she was like a sister to me.

"i love you kate, you know that right?" she says, making me look away from the tv screen just to look at her and smile. "yeah, i know, and i love you ali, thank you for being here."

"n-n-no! don't go in there!" she yelled at the tv screen to the dumb main character who's hiding under the bed. "ugh i hate these type of movies, she's obviously going to die." i say, stuffing popcorn into my mouh.

"want to bet on it?" she asked me, raising an eyebrow. "hah you and your bets." i say in between laughs, being with ali made me almost forget luke even existed, it was so weird. "well yes, i will bet on it. she will die, and if i win, we order pizza. if you win, we order chinese food." i say, since she wanted chinese food and i wanted pizza.

"ha i win!" she shouts jumping up and down. "ugh you suck." i tell her, grabbing the phone to order the chinese food.

"hey, ali, im going to call luke, i'll be right back." i tell her, walking to the kitchen. "wait." she stood up from the couch and walked toward me. what she did next took me by surprise, she took my face into her hands and she kissed me, and surprisingly, i kissed back.
