"Honestly though, Seth. What business did she have out there?"

We're heading to our locker rooms in the arena, and Seth shakes his head. "She didn't have any business out there." We stop at the Diva's Locker Room and Seth grabs my hands. "Ash, she's playing mind games with you. She used to do it all the time at FCW, but I didn't let her get to me. And you can't let her get to you, alright?"

I nod. "I won't. But I'm not gonna let her get the best of me either, and you know that."

He nods with a smirk on his face. "Fair enough." He kisses me on the lips. "I've got an opening promo, but how about we meet in catering afterwards?"

"Sounds good. I'm gonna change and I'll be there waiting." He nods, and gives my hands a squeeze before heading to his locker room.

I push my way into the empty locker room and throw down my gym bag. I have to change quickly because there was someone I still needed to talk to that I didn't get the chance to yesterday.

And I had got a new shirt that I couldn't wait to put on.

--------------------

I see him at catering, sitting off at a table by himself. I walk over and stand next to him. "Why Dean Ambrose." He turns his attention to me. "Just the man I wanted to see."

He smirks. "Hey, Helmsley. Just the type of girl I was wishing for." I roll my eyes at him. That Ambrose. The only one who called me Helmsley and a huge flirt. But he was cool, and I enjoyed talking to him. "You sure your boyfriend won't mind you talking to me?"

Dean and Roman were still on bad terms with Seth for not telling him the plan for him to be a part of The Authority. I know it had been over a year, but they had taken it to heart. "Of course not, and I can talk to whomever I want." I nod at the chair beside him. "This seat taken?"

He scoots it out with his foot. "It is now." He chuckles as I sit down. "Nice shirt, but are you trying to lower my self-esteem, because I seriously believe my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard." I laugh with him as I shake my head.

"It's not for you, moron." Time to test the waters and see the reaction her name brings up. "It's for Paige."

He admits a loud groan. "Don't mention that bitch."

I hold up my hands. "Woah, Ambrose. Language."

He frowns. "Screw language, it's true. That's the reason I broke up with her."

I do a double take. "You two dated?" He nods. "How did I not know this?"

He shrugs. "It wasn't a secret or anything. You been living under a rock Helmsley?"

"Not that I know of," I answer sarcastically.

"Eh, it was around the time you started dating your Sethie. You probably didn't notice much."

I ignore the fact that he used my nickname for Seth. "So what happened?"

"What happened was...she was a bitch."

"Ambrose."

"I'm serious. She didn't want Renee interviewing me, she didn't even want me talking to other girls, which was a problem."

"Because Nikki was cheating on John with you?"

He furrows his eyebrows. "What? No, because I liked to flirt and Nikki was my friend." He let's out a sigh. "Don't tell me you've jumped on that bandwagon?"

"What bandwagon?"

"The let's all believe what Cena says because he's Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect bandwagon."

"No, I'm not on any bandwagon. I just want to know the truth."

He nods. "The truth? Alright, that's my specialty. The truth is that me and Nikki were really good friends. Best friends if you will, and nothing more. I respected what she had with John and I never tried to sabotage it in any way. But Paige, she was crazy man. She thought we had something going on. And I liked Paige, sure, but not enough to give up my friendship with Nikki, which she wanted me to do, so I dumped her. Boy did I feel stupid when she turned everything around and made me look like the bad guy."

I put an elbow on the table and prop my chin on my fist. "And where does John come in?"

Dean starts laughing. "Oh he comes in, alright." He cuts off his laughing and looks at me with a serious expression. "He comes in and punches me square in the face when he sees me hugging his girlfriend. That bastard knew we were just friends and he overreacted, believing the lies Paige had told him. Too stupid to realize that if we were having an affair, we wouldn't have done it out in the open."

"Why were you hugging Nikki?" I felt like a detective asking all these questions.

"Are you friggin' Sherlock Holmes or something? Hugging is what friends do." He gives me a duh look, but continues. "And it was after I had told her what happened with Paige and told her that I wouldn't abandon her. Besides Roman, Nikki was the only one left, and now...she won't even look at me."

He throws his head back, letting out a sad laugh, and I feel really bad for him.

"Hey." He looks back down at me. "What if I told you, I could fix everything?"

"I would tell you that you may be a McMahon, but you're not a freaking miracle worker." There's a silence. "Are you?"

I laugh. "No, but Paige is trying to do the same thing to mess with mine and Seth's relationship, and I'm not going to let her ruin it. And in the process of not letting her ruin it," I put my hands on the top of his that's laying on the table, "I'll avenge you. And Nikki. And I'll make sure John knows the truth."

"And what makes you so sure you can do all that?"

I don't hesitate to answer. "Because, I'm Asher Brooke McMahon-Helmsley, and I can do anything."

"You know what Helmsley?" He cups his other hand over mine and leans in closer, looking around like he's about to tell me a secret. He focuses back on me. "I believe you."

I hear someone clear their throat behind me and I close my eyes. Seriously Universe, I think you are out to get me.

I let go of Dean's hand slowly and stand up to face him. "Hi Seth."

He shakes his head. "First John, and now this." He points at Dean. "Asher, what's going on?"

I guess it was time to come clean. "Seth, look I," I'm cut off by mine, Paige, and the Bellas' names being called to the gorilla. I close my eyes and sigh. Perfect timing as always.

I open them to look at Seth. "I'm sorry, but I have to explain later. I gotta go." I turn around and walk away.

I knew I would have to tell him after this match, or he would definitely get the wrong idea.
