Friday: Christmas
"Wake up, wake up, wake up." My eyes jolt open at Rogan jumping on me and Seth's bed. "Merry Christmas!"
"Merry Christmas, Ro." I sit up, wiping my eyes and look around for Seth. When I don't see him, I turn back to Rogan. "Where's Seth?"
He smirks, jumps off the bed, then runs out the door. Okay, my only guess was that Seth was downstairs with everyone else. I stand up and go into the bathroom to shower and change. When I come out, I grab my phone and see 2 text messages.
I open the text from Dolph first.
From: Dolph
Lounging around in this tank top and sweatpants feels nice. Merry Christmas, Ash.It's a selfie of himself in the outfit I got him, and he uses the pom poms as a pillow.
I smile as I type out a reply.
To: Dolph
Looking good. And Merry Christmas yourself. The other text is from Cody, and when I see the picture of Dusty's grave, a sad smile comes to my face.
From: Cody
To visit my father's grave and see newly placed flowers from you gives me a warm feeling in my heart. He always had a soft spot for you, and you were a part of our family. Merry Christmas, and thank you Asher.I wipe my eyes. Dusty was so inspirational to everyone he met. He taught me so much about the business, and when he died months ago, it was hard for me, but even harder for Cody and Dustin. I stayed by their side.
To: Cody
It's no problem at all. I know how much he meant to me, but I know he meant more to you. If you ever need anything, you know I'm always here for you. Merry Christmas, Cody.
I slide my phone in my back pocket, and make my way downstairs to get some breakfast.
I walk into the dining room to see everyone but Seth.
"Merry Christmas everybody." I kiss dad on the cheek, and hug mom. "Where's Seth?" I ask as I take a seat in the chair across from Rebecca.
"Um," dad looks at mom. "Out."
"Uh-huh. Where are my gifts from him?"
"Hey," Shawn says, "What are we chopped liver? We got you gifts too."
I get up and grab a plate, piling on pancakes and bacon. "I know Shawnee, and I want to see everyone's gifts to me, but I really want to see Seth's."
Dad smirks as I sit down. "Well, after breakfast, we'll open gifts. But Seth wants his to be opened last, and he'll be back any minute."
I glance at the empty seat next to me, and then pour syrup on my mountain of pancakes. "Alright."
-------------------------------
Lots of money from my grandparents. Lots of awesome clothes from Rebecca and Shawn. And lots of Patriots stuff from Marissa and Shane. Dad got me a collection of Motorhead albums and Mom got me some jewelry and a new WWE Pop! that was made in my likeness. It was so cute.
I gave Shawn a plaque that said "Best God-Father" with a picture of me and him, and Rebecca a gold necklace.
Shane got a signed Patriots football, and Marissa got silver earrings.
For my grandparents I framed a picture of me and them when I was younger and they took me to Disney Land.
And for the children, I gave checks to their parents, because it's so hard to buy for them. Except Ro. Which is why I bought him a Spider-Man action figure, because we both loved him.
