I cleared my throat, not knowing what to say. "Yeah, I'm good. Was her face ever shown in the videos?" I asked Victoria. "No, she doesn't want us to know as far as I'm concerned" she said, shrugging her shoulders.
I began to change the subject, nodding. "What do you do at school?" I asked her. She smiled. "I'm in the sports route. I'm a track star. I promised mama that I was gonna do track.
Lucky for me, she did see me officially run and win for the first time before she passed" she said happily. "That's good, can I see?" I asked her.
She nodded, letting me look at her track photos and videos from the day she won. What stopped my heart was the video she had where she and her siblings were singing with Giana and David.
Giana's laughter sounded off, tears coming to my eyes. "Okay y'all, let's go so we can eat. Congratulations again, everyone" she said to Victoria's team.
Cash picked up Victoria and threw her over his shoulder as he grabbed her bag. She laughed, punching him in his back. "I love you, baby! I can't believe you won 1st place" Giana said.
"I love you too, mama! You always believed in me, so I just knew that I could do it" Victoria told her. Cash laughed, putting her down and giving her the bag.
"I'm proud of you, Victoria" David said to her. "Thank you, dad" she said as they hugged once she got to him. "You did good, lil sis" A'Mya said as they hugged.
"I'm still waiting on you to go to the superbowl" Victoria said, making them all laugh as the video ended with Giana saying "my family, I swear.
I'm glad we reunited the day I got back home at my daughter's race" with a smile, making tears fall from my eyes. I've made a mistake taking Giana away from her family that needed her most.
